Meet our "Diamonds in the Rough"!
These amazing little guys were dropped off at the San Diego shelter in mid April. They were flea, tick, and skin mite infested. They had sarcoptic mange, a contagious disease to both dogs and people, and, because they were just under 2 months of age and the time it would take to heal and recover from their condition, they were in danger unless a rescue took them on. ARWOB took them and had them boarded for 5 weeks while they were quarantined and treated. You can see before and after pictures.
Our little guys were these diamonds just hiding under all their rough exterior at such a young age and having to battle so many parasites. There are 4 girls and 1 boy. Princess, Oval, Emerald, Marquise and Asscher are all adorable shepherd/aussie and some sort of little terrier mix. As of 5/28, they are between 6- 10 pounds and almost 3 months old, so we expect them to be in the 30-40 pound range.
Here are some notes about Oval from her foster parents:
Oval is a wonderfully sweet puppy. She is very affectionate and loves to give kisses and receive tummy rubs. Oval loves every dog and person she has ever met. She is extremely intelligent, attentive, and quick to learn. She has already learned “sit” and “wait”. She is still a puppy, so she doesn't like to be left alone in her crate, but her potty training is coming along beautifully. She is not the least bit food aggressive around people. Oval is definitely a runner; she sprints around the yard whenever she gets the chance. Despite her bursts of puppy energy, she has an extremely calm personality and is rarely fazed or startled by anything. She sleeps very well through the night, and when she lies down for a nap, she sleeps soundly. Oval would love to go home with someone who will take her for lots of fun walks or has a big yard for her to run in.
