Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Meet Emerald, one of our "Diamonds in the Rough"! ***And check out her cute video, below!***

Emerald is truly a sweetheart! She currently weighs about 12 pounds and we expect that she will be no more than 25-30 pounds full grown. She is a calm and happy puppy, and really playful, but almost never barks or whines. She is gentle enough to be around younger children, and when she's not following at her people's heels, likes to cuddle or be held and give her people kisses. She currently is being fostered with another dog and several cats, and gets along with them all very well.

Emerald and her siblings were dropped off at the San Diego shelter in mid April. They were flea, tick, and skin mite infested. They were in danger unless a rescue took them on. ARWOB took them and had them boarded for 5 weeks while they were quarantined and treated. You can see Emerald's before and after pictures below.

These little guys were like diamonds just hiding under those formerly rough exteriors. There are 4 girls and 1 boy. Princess, Oval, Emerald, Marquise and Asscher are all adorable retriever (?) and some sort of little terrier/chihuahua (?) mixes. Emerald now has a smooth and shiny black-and-white coat, and a very rubbable soft belly!

Emerald has been spayed, microchipped, and is up-to-date on her vaccines. Emerald knows some basic commands, is crate trained, and is well her way to being fully house trained.
