*******This is a courtesy listing for Hope2K9, who is working with Zoey and giving her the training she needs.
Zoey is an approx 2 yr old Labrador who was rescued from the streets of Mexico with a litter of puppies. She’s a pretty quintessential Lab, who is happy and social with all people, and she does well with most dogs she is properly introduced to. Zoey came to H2K9 due to displaying some pretty significant leash reactivity while fostered in her other rescue, and while she has been fully trained and understands appropriate manners both on and off leash, Zoey will need a strong leader to correct her pushiness and hold her accountable to best behavior. Some of her prior naughty stuff stems from insecurity and lack of socialization, so she will always be a gal that needs a steady and consistent human to be patient as she builds more confidence through that leadership. We would be happy to find miss Zoey a home as a single dog, or a home with another neutral male pack mate, especially a smaller dog as she seems less intimidated by the little dogs she meets. Zoey is good with kids, and love to play fetch, since she has a decent prey drive toward birds and other small wild animals, we are seeking a no cat home for her. Zoey is crate trained, knows to walk nicely on AND off leash, she has a reliable recall when called, holds a down/stay on command, knows "out" when asked to release an item such as a ball or interest in food, and has learned to have proper manners at doorways and in the car. Zoey is e collar trained just like all of our rescues, giving her more off leash reliability and freedom potential, but also more calm and consistency around the house.
