Hazel was adopted in August 2024 and she is living her best life! Her adoptive mom shared this awesome "pupdate" about her:
"Hazel is doing great!! She settled in quickly and has become best friends with my landlords dog downstairs. She’s been getting lots of walks in and play time with other dogs! We recently discovered her love for water and chasing birds. She’s such a cuddle bug and I couldn’t imagine my life without her."
Cassio (fka Harry) was adopted in August 2024. He waited a very long time to find his forever home, but it was well worth the wait. He is enjoying his life with his new family, including hiking adventures and trips to dog beach. Here is what his adoptive dad had to say about him:
"Cassio (we decided to change his name) has been such a joy since we brought him home. He’s smart, well-behaved, and as soon as we walk through the door, his little tail starts wagging, eager to play or head out for a walk. He’s made lots of new friends, including his new dog BFF, and so far, there isn’t an adventure he doesn’t love—whether it’s hiking, camping, bonfires at the beach, or outdoor dining. He loves being "in the mix."
Our cat took a few weeks to warm up to him, but Cassio was so patient. Now, she even (begrudgingly) shares her bed with him! Last week he graduated from his fundamentals training and will be starting his advanced class soon."
Oreo (fka Hallie) was adopted in October 2023. She is enjoying life with her new family! We received this lovely "pupdate" and as you can see, she is living the good life.
"Hallie, or Oreo as we now call her, is doing well. She is really a sweet dog. She likes playing in the yard with her toys and going for walks to see dog friends. We like to take her hiking with us. She tries to play with our three indoor cats, but they aren't quite as excited as she is! :-) We did go to a dog trainer for a few sessions."
Sweet Hannah was adopted in July 2023. She is living her best life with her new adoptive mom. Here is what she has to say about her:
"Hannah is doing great! She has brightened up my life and makes me giggle. She has gained weight and has a bestie named Rosie (my sisters dog). She loves her stuffies and likes to play fetch, although she likes to steal the ball most of the time. It's cute. We go to our local park or Balboa Park almost every day. When it's less crowded, and not super hot, we go to the bay or Colorado dog Beach. She's still not too sure of the water. Baby steps! She loves to squirrel watch (mom forbids the chase!). She also likes our neighborhood kitties. I believe she thinks they are a strange type of dog. She is so very kind to children and older adults as well. Hannah and I work on training everyday. She is very food motivated. Since I am an old RVT, we have not needed a professional trainer at this time. But if Hannah ever showed anything that I felt I couldn't handle, she be in training in a snap! In fact, I bought an insurance package that includes behavior modification, if needed. Hannah walks to my left side nicely. She never pulls. She has learned to sit, lay down, and wait. We are working on "come" with our 30ft training lead. She is getting there! We do live in a noisy neighborhood with the planes coming over frequently. Hannah has gotten used to most of the loud noise. When she first came to us, she was pretty frightened of planes and loud garbage trucks. Fireworks are still not super fun for her so we are slowly desensitizing to that loud noise. She enjoys classical music to drown out those booms. Hannah likes it when I sing "Hannah Banana" to her and we dance silly in my apartment. She is an awesome pup! I call her my "itty-bitty pitty". I feel extremely lucky to have Hannah, she has made my life more joyful. My boyfriend adores her too. Thank you ARWOB heroes! You all are amazing. I love my itty-bitty pitty Hannah so much. She is an excellent snuggler and an amazing role model for the pitty breed!"
We received this great "pupdate" about Hubert, who was adopted in June 2023. It sure sounds like he won the jackpot with his new family! Here is what his adoptive dad had to say about him:
"Hubert is doing so well! He is currently 35 lbs and as cute as ever. He is so well behaved and so loved. We have not done any formal pet training classes but plan on doing an intermediate training class this month. Everyone that meets Hubert falls in love and says he is the best dog ever!! We love him so much!"
