Meet Hazel!

This beautiful girl was rescued along with a litter of pups. Since her rescue the pups have been adopted and now its Hazels turn. She is a beautiful dog with a beautiful personality. We would love to find a forever family for her and we encourage applicants to request a 1 week foster to adopt trial to make sure she is the right fit for the new human(s) who adopt her.

Hazel is VERY people friendly (men, women and children alike) and has shown no dog aggression on/off leash. She is very social with dogs. We would like her continue that amazing dog and for that we are looking for an adopter/foster who will continue to socialize with dogs and people in/out of their home.

We are looking for an adopter/foster with time in their hand who KNOWS adopting a dog into a new home takes time for the transition of adjustment and requires ADOPTERS/FOSTER to help train at home. Hazel is a medium energy dog and a nice medium size which means dog training is a MUST and always recommend to adopters to sign up into 'in person' dog training be it puppy training or dog obedience 101 within a month of adoption which allows adopters and new canine members to have a great start at a lifetime together. Dog training and keeping dogs socialized is of most importance to ANY and all dogs, Hazel has a wonderful social, loving and active personality perhaps she is a great match for you??

A little about Hazel:
Hazel was amazingly gentle with people of all ages, eager for attention and pets. She does want to jump/climb up on legs, but it was easy to ease her off (even when the people greeting her didn't mind.) She didn't lick faces or hands, but definitely melted when she got pets/caresses.
- She does lay down and calm down but she is excitable for outtings like walks, runs, hikes, etc
- She need leash training like all dogs, since she can tug at the leash but easily trainable
- Overall she is a sweet dog, but typical young dog energy and will need someone that can give that energy a good outlet (walks, runs, play, etc.)
She can be an only dog in the home but she would do amazing with another dog friendly and playful friend and/or an active family/home would be best for Hazel.

We don't often have dog adoption events and rely in interested parties to submig applications online for a follow up email/text to schedule a call in hopes to move forward to schedule a meet and greet in San Diego area. Submit applications at ARWOB.org
