These adorable pups are currently (as of 4/8/23) fostered by a family of 4 humans and 2 large breed doggos. The family of 8 (4 females and 3 males plus mama Hannah!) have been living in a home environment with a yard, pool (pool savvy) and 2 children who are amazing with dogs.
We know the parents of these pups have AMAZING dispositions, sweet natured gentle souls so we expect these pups already have amazing genetic, its now, all about nurture and making sure amazing families adopt them to continue to socialize, love and care for them for their life.
A little about the rescue history. We were contacted for help from a local San Diego family who has 4 large outside yard dogs, 1 small breed indoor dog and 1 indoor adult cat. Sadly, a low-income family trying to survive and although are loving and caring towards their pets they knew they needed help financially to provide better for them. Thankfully one of our volunteers drove to their home to assess. It was a rainy day in San Diego and although was only expecting to go assess the situation to see if we could get local shelter or rescue groups involved when encountered with Hannah trying to shelter the babies from the rain in the yard, a new plan evolved. Thankfully the family realized that was not the environment for the babies nor the proper situation for so many dogs. We called their current foster mom who immediately moved things around to accept the family on such short immediate need and we drove Hannah and her little family to safety. The rest is history. We came to realize what a SWEETHEART mama Hannah is and if you meet the family, you will see how amazing she is too!
We were so happy to be able to help this family to assist in picking up all their pets, dogs and cats alike to drive them to one of our partnering veterinary clinics to get them ALL sterilized. NO MORE planned or accidental pregnancies for these creatures. We also provided some veterinary care like vaccines, flea prevention and dropped off supplies for shelter, food, etc. The family was very appreciative and so now, the task to find this little family of 8 fantastic forever homes.
We know the dad is a white retriever mix who at 4yrs of age weighs 42 pounds and is in great condition. Mama Hannah is also 40lbs. So, both parents of these pups have amazing dispositions and weight 40lbs, hence we suspect these pups will grow to be in the 40pound range BUT adopters who apply for these babies should be ok with dogs in the 40–55-pound range, just in case. What breed they are? We don’t know, we just know they are adorable both physically and personality. Could they have Pitbull? Maybe! They probably also have Maltese in them though! Ha ha
As of 4/8 Hannah and her babes are fostered in Alpine. Her foster mom can meet anywhere in San Diego though and we typically schedule meet and greets in the 92117 area, but foster parent and applicant can choose location of meet. You likely would meet Hannah and as many pups we still have left or just the pup you are interested in. Realistically, it's all about the meeting on deciding who you have a connection with the pup you adopt.
The following is short comment from each pup individual personality from their foster mom:
Peeps is an all-around sweet girl. She mainly has an all-white fur coat who will develop adorable light tan markings speckles/spots on ears and face with piercing BLUE EYES. They are mystical. She loves to play around all day. She explored the backyard but stays in close proximity to the pack. She likes to wrestle with her siblings and her stuffy toys. Peeps would add such a love to any family who will love her forever.
The pups were born on 2/15/23 which means they will not be able to be adopted until they turn 9 weeks old on the weekend of 4/15 /23 but we can schedule a meet and greet any time before that. The pups received their first DHPP vaccination at 7 weeks of age. This puppy will be sterilized in the 92104 area of San Diego on Monday, May 1, 2023. The drop off time will be between 8:30-9:00 am. The sterilization surgery is already included in the adoption fee. This means priority will given to local San Diego area applicants. This will ensure the adopter is able to take their new puppy to the pre-scheduled surgery appointment and then pick the puppy up at the end of the day after surgery. Please do NOT submit an application if you do not live in the San Diego area. If you would like to adopt and live outside of San Diego area, you are welcome to wait until the sterilization surgery has been completed to see if the puppy is still available at that time (please note that we do not place holds on any of our rescues). Of course, adopters will receive thorough information about their surgery appointment.
Adopters who have a flexible work schedule or a conducive home environment for their new family member to not be home alone a long time while this young and are READY to tackle all that comes with raising a puppy and making sure they are well socialized and trained as they grow up will be the best considered for adoption as we want these babies to grow up to be amazing companions under the right guidance from their adoptive family. Dog training is a must for ANY dog to prevent bad habits forming that would cause dogs to be aggressive, develop anxiety or have issues like pulling on leash, dog or people reactivity or just plain no manners as they develop into teens and adulthood. The best way to invest in having a fantastic family member and companion is DOG TRAINING, we can't say this enough you will not have the same results reading books or watching you tube videos than actually signing up at a dog training group class.
Want to meet these ADORABLE babes?!
Don't delay and submit a dog adoption application TODAY!
We will email or text you to schedule a 10-15min phone interview and hopefully a meeting as soon as 4/15! These babies can't wait to meet their new families, let's get them HOME :)
