Meet Bes!
Foster Update 2-24-22:
"Bes is such a sweet girl. She enjoys her family time and focused attention with us, but also can play alone and entertain herself in the yard. She is confident yet submissive and likes to cuddle. She has great agility, is intelligent, and obedient. She has already learned sit and not to enter the house unless invited when the door is open. She is also now leash trained and has been trained for off leash walking staying by our side or coming when called. She enjoys car rides and going to dog parks. She is crate trained with no accidents throughout the night. She enjoys playing with her toys, and playing fetch. She is not a barky dog. She will need continued training and socialization (like any dog). She enjoys children and has done very well with our 3 children ages 4, 6, and 8. She is such a gem, we are secretly hoping it takes awhile for her to get adopted so we can keep her for longer."
ORIGINAL RESCUE STORY:
This little goddess of love is a young adult who still has some puppy vibes, but is also a mama dog at heart. She was rescued from the streets of Tijuana in December 2021 along with 4 of her pups, who are all available for adoption as well.
Bes is approximately 2 years old and 30 pounds, so she is already full grown with long legs and a scruffy coat. We are not sure of her breed, but she is certainly a terrier mix who may also have some potential cocker spaniel DNA and the same goofy, fun personality that we typically see in a cocker spaniel.
Bes is very people friendly and good with most dogs. She is a young mama dog, which means she can put some young ones in their place by showing them some manners, but will also play with them like a pup herself. She will certainly put a bright smile in your face when you meet her! Her ideal adopter will be someone who is willing to enroll her in dog training classes and participate with her during her training sessions. She has never been a house dog, so she will need everything from leash training to normal dog training commands. This will teach her doggy manners so she can be her best possible self! She is calm, but also very happy-go-lucky. This means she is content just relaxing, but she is also ready for adventures too. Bes has not been tested with cats, but we can do so if requested.
If you are interested in meeting her, please submit an online adoption application. Don’t wait! Submit an application for this fantastic girl today! She is looking forward to meeting you.
