Godiva aka Godi is a not only a physically beautiful pup BUT also the best demeanor around!
This sweetheart of a gentle giant pup was rescued at only a couple of weeks old found as a singleton pup and was nursed by an adult dog we had rescued who happened to be lactating without pups. Thankful and perfect time for this little pup to survive Dutchess the Golden retriever was an amazing surrogate mama for Godiva. Dutchess was just adopted in March and Godi came to casa de arwob to be fostered along with other foster dogs and cats. Godiva was rescued from the streets of Ensenada, Mexico which means she is a super mutt aka baja mutt. We don't have any knowledge of parents but from her physical and behavioral attributes we believe she is mostly shepherd.
Godiva was 15 pounds the first week of March which is the time she arrives San Diego and now mid April and just recently spayed she was 22 pounds at the vet which means this sweetheart is a large breed who will likely grow to be in the 60-80 pound range (likely 70 pounds) and we are specifically looking for adopters who are interested in the large breeds and have no breed restrictions for shepherds.
Godi is nothing but love and positiveness. She is a big baby and we forget that she is just a baby herself. She currently is best friends with freedom another shepherd pup as well as Antena and Harry at casa de arwob and she adores kitty friends. Godiva is crate trained, doing amazing on her potty training as long as she has access to the yard and house training she does well is he has her own toys to chew on. She adores humans and would love little humans although she has not lived with children since march so a family with children should know their kiddos need to be gentle and slow while she warms up to them. Godi wants to be friends with everyone large, small dogs even if alpha themselves. Godi is not leash trained as she just finished her vaccination series and is NOW ready to go for walks. She does well on car rides. She is not a barky dog at this time and she will whine in her crate when she needs to go potty. She sleeps like a pro in her crate, such a great pup and we are surprised this healthy beautiful pup is still with us.
Godi enjoys anything she can chew on as she is teething but she also loves tug of war with another dog friend or a human and is learning to fetch :)
To adopt this sweet baby please submit an application for adoption online at ARWOB.org
or submit a foster application, we specifically would love a foster who can take her on daily walks as its not something we have done yet with her and she would love to see the world now that she is old enough to go out and about vs staying at casa de arwob, fostering Godis will allow us to take in new pups who need Godivas space.
