Meet Mai and Tai!
UPDATE 7-11-21: Here is what Tai's foster mom has to say:
"Tai is my kids’ favorite puppy because she is so cute and soft. They call her Oreo cookie because she has little black Oreo cookie crumbs on her nose. She is a big cuddler and loves to be on your lap but she definitely enjoys running around and chasing the hose and playing with her sister Polly. Her hair is so soft like a bunny rabbit. She is still cautious around new people and is gaining confidence each day. She likes her crate when she takes naps and wants to have her own space. She is also completely potty trained. She would be an awesome family member for any loving family."
UPDATE 6-19-21: Here is what Tai's foster mom has to say:
"Tai has such a laid back personality and loves to get pets from her loved ones. She gets along wonderfully with her siblings and other dogs. She also loves kids, as long as they approach her calmly. She gets a bit frightened if someone approaches her too loudly. She likes to play with squeaky toys and play tug of war. Tai is a kind hearted puppy that would make such an excellent addition to any family that is willing to love her for forever."
ORIGINAL RESCUE STORY:
These pups were born in Ensenada, Mexico. Their mother is owned by a neighbor of a local dog rescuer, who happened to receive a plea for help to place the pups in good homes. She offered to help since she volunteers for a rescue group. She was also able to get the mother dog spayed.
We think these pups will be medium breed dogs that will likely reach the 45-55 pound range when full grown. They are very sweet dogs, but true to their breed, they are ACTIVE and will need an adopter that is ready for puppy training and house training.
Mai and Tai can meet potential adopters right away. If all goes well with their meet and greet, they can potentially go home that day. However, they will be sterilized in the San Diego area on Monday, July 26, 2021. This means priority will given to local area applicants. This will ensure they are able to take the pups to the pre-scheduled surgery appointment and then pick them up at the end of the day after surgery. Please do NOT submit an application if you do not live in the San Diego area. If you would like to adopt and live outside of San Diego area, you are welcome to wait until their sterilization surgery has been completed to see if they are still available at that time (please note that we do not place holds on any of our rescues).
If you are interested in fostering or adopting one of these cuties, please complete an online application at www.arwob.org. Don’t wait!
