Rico was adopted in April 2017 and he recently welcomed a new “canine sibling” named Vincent in April 2023, who is also an ARWOB rescue pup. Their family has also adopted two kitties from ARWOB back in November 2021, thereby giving loving homes to several adorable ARWOB rescue animals. We absolutely love repeat adopters! Their family shared some sweet photos of Rico (black Labrador retriever mix) and Vincent (yellow Labrador retriever mix) enjoying life together.
Sometimes miracles do happen! This rescue story is very special, not only because these two ARWOB kitties had a rough start, but because Red was adopted in April 2022 and then Rigatoni joined the same lovely family in September 2022. We just love repeat adopters! The cherry on the top is that their adoptive mom also became one of ARWOB’s lovely kitty volunteers!
Red had been rescued by a good Samaritan, who found him lying in his back yard. ARWOB was eventually contacted and we took him under our care. It was later discovered that Red had an old pelvic fracture that had somehow healed on its own. He was not a candidate for surgery at that point and it was determined he was not in pain and was able to move around on his own. Red’s adoptive mom was touched by his story and found him to be super sweet. She started a foster-to-adopt trial in March and and finalized his adoption in April.
Rigatoni also had a very rough start! He came under ARWOB’s care along with his 6 kitten siblings when they were only a few weeks old and less than 200 grams. Rigs was diagnosed with FIP in late 2021. He was successfully treated and fully recovered, thanks to the new treatment options that are now available for this condition (ARWOB was determined to help Rigatoni beat FIP and we raised funds to treat him). Rigs waited over a year to find his “purrfect” forever family and we are so glad he waited! He joined his loving family in September and now lives the good life!
Red and Rigatoni joined the household with their feline companion Mouse and their adoptive mom has said all 3 kitties are living happily together. Their adoptive mom sent us these cute photos of Red and Rigs showing how they have become BFFs over the last several months. Yup! Miracles sometimes do happen!

Rainbow was adopted in September 2022 and she is doing great with her new family. Her adoptive dad has said that she gets along with his other kitty and even his dog. Here is what he has to say: "She is great. Her and Lewis are best buds and run around and nap together all day together. She and my dog Max are getting along great too and does not mind lounging together in the same room either."
Rocky and Roy were adopted together in June 2022. They waited a long time to find their "purrfect" home and it was well worth it! Their adoptive mom sent us this wonderful update about them. They certainly won the jackpot and that makes us very happy!
"Rocky & Roy are doing great. They adapted to us very quickly and pretty much rule the house. Rocky is the most gentle soul and loves to chase after balls. Roy is very talkative and always wants to be where the people are. They love watching the wild animals out the window and even some cat tv on the iPad!"
