Mango

Mango has finally found his forever home after a rather tough journey!  Mango and his brother were adopted together as kittens back in July 2015.  In August of 2021, ARWOB received a call from the San Diego Humane Society stating that the 2 ginger boys were relinquished to them because their family was "moving."  We immediately took them back into our care.  The boys eventually adjusted to being back with us and in November 2021, Mango was adopted by another family.  However, he was relinquished back to ARWOB in November 2022, a whole year after being adopted the 2nd time, because he supposedly didn't get along with the adopter's other cat.  Thankfully he found his "purrfect" forever home in February 2023 and his new adoptive mom has said he's doing great!  Here is what she has to say about Mango:

"Mango is doing so great! We just love him to pieces. He is settling into the home with all his new toys. He is so affectionate, playful, and smart. Here are a couple of photos of him with his toys and cat tree. We are so thankful to have him in our lives. Thank you!"

Mia

We always love to share successful adoption stories, but we especially love repeat adopters.  Mia was adopted in December 2022 and she is now a feline "sister" to TJ, who was adopted by the same loving family in May 2020.  TJ had a rough start and came to ARWOB with many injuries.  Thankfully she recovered and lives a happy and healthy life as a "tripod" and only one eye.  Mia and TJ have become BFFs and we couldn't be happier about the recent update we received. Their adoptive mom has also been a wonderful ARWOB volunteer over the years.  Here is what she has to say about Mia:

"Thank you for checking on Mia. She is doing wonderfully! Mia is a very active kitty and fits in perfectly with our other cat, who we also adopted from ARWOB (TJ). Both of them are the same size, around 7 pounds, and they play together a lot. In fact, as I write this, they are sleeping together, which warms my heart. Mia is also very affectionate with us. She loves to sit on my lap and purr as I work on my computer. She is also very playful and every day at 8:00 pm sharp, she sits by the closet door where we keep her toys, asking us to play with her. She is such a precious cat, and we love her tremendously. Once again, thank you for all that you do to help animals like Mia find their forever homes. We are so grateful to have Mia in our lives, and we appreciate your ongoing support and care."

Munster (fka Nube)

Maple (fka Brie) and Nacho (fka Munster) were adopted as a pair in December 2022. We are SO happy to receive this "purrfect" update from their adoptive family:

"We are in love with Maple (Brie) and Nacho (Munster). They literally hopped out of the crate and made themselves at home including winning over our senior dogs, that have never lived with cats before. Nacho is a quiet guy that loves crinkle balls, cuddling in laps, playing fetch, trying to get our dogs to participate in zoomies and supervising everything I do. Maple is very vocal about her wants, purrs loud enough to hear from another room, loves crawling in bed with our dog Izzy, spring toys, watching hummingbirds visiting our feeders, being carried like a baby and supervising me like her brother. They are so social and sweet and everyone that meets them falls in love. They make us laugh everyday and we feel so fortunate that we were able to add them to our family."

Mike

Zeb (fka Mike) was adopted in November 2022.  His adoptive mom shared this great "pupdate" with us.  Apparently Zeb and his canine sibling Toby have names that come with an interesting backstory!  Here's what she has to say:

"Mike, now named Zeb, is doing great. He's grown to about 14.5 pounds now (we just went to the vet for some preventative care where he was weighed), and I'm guessing he'll top out around 18-20. He settled in right away with my other dog, Toby, whom he clearly adores. They snuggle, chase each other around the house, and wrestle over toys. I loved to see them both so engaged. He's definitely a cuddler, and I like to think of him as my personal hot water bottle during these last few weeks of cold nights. He's been a wonderful addition to the family. Fun fact for anyone who is a Margaret Atwood fan: the dogs are named after Toby and Zeb of the Maddaddam Trilogy."

Michael

Simba (fka Michael) was adopted in October 2022 and we recently received a "pupdate" from his adoptive family.  His adoptive mom is so happy to have him in their lives and here's what she had to say about him:

"Omg, he is amazing. We think Michael (now Simba) is mixed with great dane. haha! He loves going to the dog park, specifically Fiesta Island, finished his first training course at a dog prep school a week ago, and he has fit so well into our family. The absolute best gentleman too! He is also best friends with a female golden retriever named Bella who is the same age as him! We couldn’t thank you enough! We absolutely love him and his energy so we are very excited that he could potentially be a part great dane!"
