Meet Carmelita!
This little sweetheart was all alone in the streets of an impoverished area of Mexico where a number of abandoned animals have been left to fend on their own. She approached one of our rescuers and was starving, malnourished, VERY skinny and hungry, as well as being covered with fleas.
Her rescuer has this to say about her: "Carmelita is a kitty who is very sweet and extremely loving and affectionate. She likes to play, but, most of all, loves her human companions and LOVES to sleep on their shoulders! She is easily frightened of big dogs." (This may be due to her experiences with them in the streets before she was rescued...we do not know except that large dogs do frighten her at this time)
She is litter box trained and completely up to date on her vaccinations. During the past month, her foster family has given her lots of TLC and helped her with the good food and nourishment she so desperately needed in order to gain weight so that she would be ready for adoption, and we are happy to report that she is ready to find her forever home.
This gorgeous little girl is hard to resist. If you are looking for an extremely sweet and affectionate kitten who loves to sleep and cuddle on your shoulders, Carmelita is the one for you! If you are interested in Carmelita, please file an adoption application online.
If you are looking to adopt, you might consider adopting another kitten along with her so that she will not be lonely and will have someone to play and cuddle with when you are not home, but if you already have another kitty at home, that would be fine also.
