Meet Hope, she is the daughter of Dream and Will and is the sole survivor of her litter. Her mother was given to a woman as a gift when she was 3-4 months old. Since then, she has given birth to who knows how many litters, Hope being a product of one of those many litters. Finally, an ARWOB rescuer was able to step in and stop the vicious cycle. Hope was described as very lethargic and malnourished upon her rescue. She has since had her first exam, medication applied, and has been all cleaned up. She is somewhat shy, but she is very playful (likes to play with balls and toys!). She is also not a barker and walks well on the leash already.
Here are some additional notes from her foster mom:
Little, sweet Hope (or 'Hopey')... I can't say enough about her. Her name is so fitting because she is such a survivor. When ARWOB took her in, she was on death's door, living tied to a stake in a homeless camp in Tijuana. She was the only survivor of her mom's litter. She was starving to death, skin and bones. She was so food-aggressive, she wouldn't let her foster dog siblings near anything even resembling food (you would be too had you been starving and competing for resources your whole life!). She was so covered in parasites, she needed a blood transfusion. She was so matted, she had to be shaved completely. And after all of that, you wouldn't believe her zest for life. Here are some important highlights:
She is happy, wagging her little tail all day long
She is friendly and outgoing with everyone she meets
She is completely house-trained now!
She is NO LONGER food-aggressive, and shares food out of the SAME bowl with all of her foster dog-siblings
She is still a puppy and likes to play, play, play
If she doesn't have a dog-friend to play with, she entertains herself with toys or her special fly-chasing hobby
She absolutely LOVES to play fetch, and she rolls the ball to you when she brings it back (see video)
She likes to sleep in bed with Foster Mommy and Daddy; she stays curled up all night and doesn't move about
She loves car rides
She loves walks, but needs some work on the leash
She is very cuddly, affectionate, and loving
She is good with children of all ages
She knows commands "sit" and "stay"
She is very intelligent
She would make a great companion for almost any family

Hope is as cute as can be now with all of her poodle curls coming in! Hope has a lot of healthy energy, so she requires a home in which her humans have alot of time to play with her (she will play fetch all day long), walk her daily, and take her to socialize with other doggie friends. She is a sweetie pie who deserves a happy life and lots of love after her rough start. Please consider meeting Hope to see if she is the right dog for you!
If you are interested in Hope, please fill out an adoption application online. She is waiting for the forever home she so deserves.
