Kneel down beside her and she will sit next to you just to get a snuggle. She is great around other dogs; when canine friends act out, Farrah opts out. She would do well with a family who is looking for a family dog/companion. She will do fine as an only "child" as she LOVES her humans more than she does her doggie friends.
We are not sure if Farrah is 3 yrs or 5yrs. She was rescued off the streets of Mexico (Tijuana) walking and searching desperately for food. The poor girl was literally Skin & Bones. She had been in the streets for a while and not thriving. You could tell she was begging for food from almost every person she encountered in the streets just trying to be petted. She rubbed against their legs while being shooshed away by people, seeing a "sickly" large breed dog many just feel intimidated by their size and react differently to a smaller dog who is sick and skin/bones when approached. Farrah's rescuer could not stand it any longer and, although she has 2 pugs of her own and no room for a larger dog in a small condo, she took her in and started the recovery process. That was back in 06/2013. Since 09/2013, Farrah has been boarding in San Diego and has many play dates out with other ARWOB rescues who are also boarding like Tulum, Bennet, Autumn and Simon... all different sizes and ages. She does well with them all running around a mock. There are days that she doesn't want to be bothered by them and she will let them know. She just seeks more human attention and companionship than she does of her own kind.
We are not sure if Farrah is house trained. She likely is. She is great in the car and in a crate. She is SAFE around people, so a family is the ideal home for her as she loves attention from children.
Does she look pit? american staffie? Maybe, but for the most part her body and face are more of a Labrador retriever than a bullie breed. So, don't be discouraged by a "Breed". If she does have pit bull, it is a slight mix. It's all in the eye of the beholder and what people choose to see or believe. Pit bulls are wonderful family members and if she has a little bullie breed in her, then even better!
All we know at ARWOB about Farrah is she would make a family very happy!
She is active but also can just lounge around. She just needs a great walk or interactive play but more than anything....some warm, genuine love that includes a nice belly rub. Find the right spot and you will see her kick her leg wildly with enjoyment.
Would you like to foster her? Foster to adopt? or just know she is the one for you and adopt her?
Then please, help us find this gorgeous girl a family and file a dog foster or adoption application online. You will not regret meeting this beauty even if she isn't the one for you because she will bring a smile to your face.
