Adam was found living on the streets in Mexico. He was fed by a local mechanic for over a year and the man would allow Adam to sleep inside his shop. Adam was a smart boy and constantly sought help from the mechanic knowing full well that he would end up either injured, hungry, or dead on the streets. A friend of our rescuer took her car there one day for a repair and noticed Adam, along with Ava and her pups, and communicated this to our rescuer. She then followed through by convincing the mechanic to relinquish care of the dogs to her.
Adam has now been in a foster home in San Diego since early March and he is doing wonderfully! He is large breed but is a gentle giant. He's good with both small and large dogs. He does respond to a large alpha dog who attempts to dominate him but with a quick correction he stops. Adam loves to embrace humans with a gentle hug; he is very calm and his favorite past time is taking naps and going for walks around the neighboorhood.
In addition, here's what Adam's foster mom has to say about him:
Adam is a big sweetie pie. He's very affectionate and loves getting attention from people. He gets along well with other dogs and is oblivious to cats. Adam is a perfect movie-watching partner as he loves to snuggle up on the couch and cuddle all night. While a bit timid on walks at first, he is quick to warm up to his surroundings and now loves them! He also loves going to dog beach and listens very well when called. I can't imagine there being an environment where Adam would behave poorly, but I see him being happiest in a home where he can get the love and attention that he deserves.
