Hello Cali!
Look at this HANDSOME little guy, he has the sweetest disposition ever! and he is just adorable to look at.
His name is Cali because he is a smart little guy who knew how to find help and now he would like to be adopted in California!
Cali is a Baja, Mexico rescue. He was wondering in the streets all alone for miles and he actually ended up in a little doggy sanctuary ( a small area were dogs are being quarantined and cared for until foster parents/adopters are found) he snuck right through behind a volunteer who had just arrived early morning to care for the crew and this little guy asked for Sanctuary. Which was of course given, he drank water like a camel and ate like it had been weeks since his last good meal. After a volunteer gave him a bath and removed all the fleas he had (little flea bag he was) he was vaccinated and dewormed and is now just happy as he can be.
Cali is about 4 months and 20 pounds, doing the math, we believe he will be a BIG guy maybe 60-80 pounds? His body frame is also indicative of that. He is amazing around dogs,cats, children and people, would be a fantastic family companion. A good running partner as well.
He does need to be shown the ropes like all pups, he needs to be housetrained and will need to be enrolled in puppy training but from his personality he will learn in no time!
He is not a crazy puppy and loves to be next to you, not a barker, calm but active, he is a VERY greatful little pup who is just enjoy life.
Notes from Cali's foster mom: Cal is a smart, sweet, well behaved, handsome, loyal shepherd/lab puppy. He learned street smarts in Baja, Mexico, being wary of cars and sticking by your side on or off of a leash. Cal never tugs or pulls the leash on his walks. If you're busy around the house, he'll find a spot by your feet to cozy up and fall asleep. He's in the beginning stages of potty training and very responsive / quick to learn on a schedule and reward system. He's very alert and aware of his environment. Cal loves playtime and running. He's content with his stuffed Mr. Sock Monkey, but prefers you join in with a little tug and war. The kitchen smells are irresistible to his little nose, but he'll lay down and wait patiently for his turn. No begging, even though he has the cutest little face for it! You'll fall in love fast with this warm, friendly, mellow pup!
