To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Oh Moose, poor sweet soul. He was originally an American east coast dog whose parents moved to Chapala Lake, Jalisco (a little town about 30 miles from Guadalajara) 2 years ago along with his sister. However, the couple separated and turned Moose and his sister into animal control. A kind women saw them turning him in and therefore saved Moose from the perrera system (thank goodness, the Mexican pound is brutal) when she took him home. Unfortunately her male dog didn't approve of Moose so one of our volunteers who happened to be vacationing down in Chapala offered to take him and to socialize him during her stay in Mexico for October. HOWEVER, she formed a bond with him and couldn't leave him behind to be turned into the local shelter. SO, he along with Bambi were flown to San Diego so that they could potentially find a home to call their own and love them unconditionally.

Moose is fully grown at 40lbs. He is VERY smart, a very typical collie. He LOVES toys but especially tennis balls. He knows basic commands such as sit, shake, stay, find it, etc. He walks very well on the leash and might be a great guard dog as well. He loves to play with other dogs.
