Meet Jack!
Jack is a courtesy post for our friends with "Dog Rescuers Without Borders,” located in Tijuana and San Diego. They rescued Jack when he was just a young pup and he was adopted a couple of years back. Sadly, his owner dropped him off at the local San Diego shelter without communicating with the group, but they found out about his predicament and took him back. They realized he had some issues with his eye, including early glaucoma or perhaps cataracts. They are still waiting to hear from the eye clinic to find out what the diagnosis is, but this is probably why he was dropped off by his former family. His original foster mom was not happy to see that the poor pup was certainly a different dog, with a different personality than she remembered him. Now, he just seemed unsure and confused.
We would LOVE to help them find a foster family for this chiwennie, who is mellow and gentle, but very sweet. He does want to be with people the most and has done well with the dogs he has met, but we have no information on how he is with cats. He is already full grown at 2.5 years old and has reached full grown weight at 14 pounds. He would be a great retiree companion, but he can certainly hold his own for walks and outgoings. His eye has not been an issue or bothersome since they took him in. We think he would be great with children and he seems to be fine with dogs.
You can also request a foster to adopt trial to get to know him well before committing to adopting him.
If you are interested in meeting this sweet boy, please submit an online application at www.arwob.org right away.
