UPDATE 3-15-21: Donna and Donny are being fostered together and here is what their foster family has to say about them:
"Both cats are very easy to pick up, both sleep in bed with people at night, and both love pets when they're sleepy (not so much when active). Donna is more of a lap cat than Donny (she will jump into your lap and sleep). Donny will obviously ask for attention (he meows more than Donna when he wants attention or food). They are both very sleepy cats in the day, but come afternoon and evening they usually hang out on our bed."
UPDATE 2-13-12:
“Donna is very affectionate and curious. Donny is a lot more reserved, but both are very socialized and love attention without being too needy. They can definitely be adopted as a pair, as they mirror each other when playing and sleep and groom together. They both aggressively love playtime and having fun with each other.”
ORIGINAL RESCUE STORY:
This little family of 5 kittens was rescued back in late November. A good Samaritan was walking by the bay in Ensenada Mexico and heard kids screaming in chaos. The children had found the 5 kittens between the rocks and the water was rising! The good Samaritan approached and saw what was going on, so they decided to rescue all of them. It seemed the mama cat had chosen the wrong place to move her kittens and they were never able to locate her. The little family was infested with fleas and very malnourished, but thankfully they began to eat on their own right away.
We were waiting for a foster to take them in, so that we could arrange transport to San Diego. Now that these 5 kiddos are here, we are getting to know them better, while providing them better care and attention. So far it seems that Donny and Donna are a little bit more “scardy cat” than their 3 siblings, who are more outgoing. They get along well with other cats, however they have not been tested around dogs, so we are not sure how they might react at this point.
Priority will be given to adopters who have another cat living in the home. If you are considering adopting and do not already have another animal at home, please consider adopting another kitten, teen, or adult as well. Kittens are very cat oriented. As with all young kittens, these kiddos would be much too lonely without a companion when you are not home. This way they will have another kitty to play and cuddle up with when you are not with them, and, as an added bonus, they will double your pleasure and fun as well! If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an online application at: www.arwob.org
