Meet the “D” Kittens: Donny, Danny, Denny, Donna, and Danna!
UPDATE 3-14-21 (Notes from their foster family):
"Danny is the sweetest boy ever! Total lap cat, or sits on my shoulder when I’m working. Danna is sweet and playful but not liking hugs too much like Danny does. If I didn’t travel they would have already been adopted (by me!)."
UPDATE 2-20-21 (Notes from their foster family):
"Danna & Danny get along very well and are really good buddies. She is still very hesitant of us, but tolerates being picked up and held. She sleeps beside us or wherever Danny is! The big milestone this week is she has been joining Danny on my lap and Purrs - wow! Danna is always with us, but usually just likes the "arms length away" approach. Danny is the total opposite - he’s such a huggy lap cat! He’s a keeper! Danna & Danny should be adopted together. They are a good match when it comes to play and both are pretty mellow kitties -- plus I think Danna really needs him!"
ORIGINAL RESCUE STORY:
This little family of 5 kittens was rescued back in late November. A good Samaritan was walking by the bay in Ensenada Mexico and heard kids screaming in chaos. The children had found the 5 kittens between the rocks and the water was rising! The good Samaritan approached and saw what was going on, so they decided to rescue all of them. It seemed the mama cat had chosen the wrong place to move her kittens and they were never able to locate her. The little family was infested with fleas and very malnourished, but thankfully they began to eat on their own right away.
We were waiting for a foster to take them in, so that we could arrange transport to San Diego. Now that these 5 kiddos are here, we are getting to know them better, while providing them better care and attention. So far it seems that Donny and Donna are a little bit more “scardy cat” than their 3 siblings, who are more outgoing. They get along well with other cats, however they have not been tested around dogs, so we are not sure how they might react at this point.
Priority will be given to adopters who have another cat living in the home. If you are considering adopting and do not already have another animal at home, please consider adopting another kitten, teen, or adult as well. Kittens are very cat oriented. As with all young kittens, these kiddos would be much too lonely without a companion when you are not home. This way they will have another kitty to play and cuddle up with when you are not with them, and, as an added bonus, they will double your pleasure and fun as well! If you are interested in adopting, please complete an online adoption application at www.arwob.org
