Meet Goldy and her 6 “Bear” puppies!

Goldy was obtained from an breeder in Chapala Mexico, who was breeding her for her beautiful puppies. We believe she may have had 3 litters in previous years, but the breeder lost interest in her because many of her puppies did not resemble their mother or turn out the way he had hoped. Consequently, we found out that the owner wanted them gone! ARWOB made arrangements to purchase Goldy and her 6 puppies from the breeder because we new we had to rescue them. We knew we had to get them out as soon as possible, so we made it happen.

Goldy and her 6 “Bear” puppies were seen by a veterinarian in Central Mexico and given a clean bill of health. They have recently arrived in San Diego and each dogs will be spayed or neutered within the next two weeks. Once this is done, we will need foster and adopters in the San Diego area as soon as possible! Ideally, we would like to find each of them the loving forever home they deserve, but in the meantime we are in desperate need of foster families to take them in so they can feel safe while they find a family of their own.

The entire family is sweet, despite the fact that they lack socialization. In fact, they are very appreciative of human attention and love! Right now they are NOT house trained, but are learning to become crate trained. Therefore, they will need adopters who are willing to commit to helping them learn to be in a loving home environment.

Goldy is a wonderful mamma dog and although she currently has a “shaved” haircut, she is absolutely beautiful. We can tell she has a sturdy body, perhaps the frame of a spaniel/cockapoo mix, but her long wavy coat indicates she may be more of a maltese/havanese mix, rather than a poodle which typically has curly fur. It’s hard to know her exact breed, but she is a small/medium type of girl and is super sweet. All 6 of her puppies have short fur and look a bit different than their mamma. Just take a look at Polar Bear, Kodiak Bear, Panda Bear, Sun Bear, Sloth Bear, and Grizzly Bear to see how cute they look! Each puppy seems to be social and playful and while we are getting to know them better, they do seem to be your typical happy-go-lucky puppies! We think each puppy might be part poodle, some sort of retriever, and perhaps a little terrier too. Ha, ha! They are estimated to reach 20-40 pounds when full grown (or at least that is our best guess).

We are certain that any one of these dogs will be a wonderful member for your family! If you are interested in adopting one of these cutie pies, please fill out an online adoption application right away. They are excited to meet you!
