Meet Wave!
Update 5-20-12: Here is what Wave's foster family has to say:
"Wave is such a sweet puppy. He enjoys his family time and focused attention with us, but also can play alone and entertain himself. He has a calm confident submissive demeanor and likes to cuddle. He does best with lots of physical and intellectual training to keep his energy utilized. He has amazing agility, is intelligent, obedient, and we found her to be easy to train. He is crate trained with no accidents throughout the night, and is making great progress in house training. He is not a barky dog, but will alert. He enjoys long walks and does great on the leash, no pulling. He enjoys children and has done well with our 3 children ages 3, 5, and 7, as well as our cat. Also socialized with other dogs and people. He is such a gem, we are secretly hoping it takes awhile for him to get adopted so we can keep him for longer."
Original Rescue Story:
Radar, Pulse and Wave, a trio of siblings, were rescued as strays in Ensenada Mexico. They are your typical Baja blend super mutt! They “look” like Collie/Aussie/Shepherd/Coyote (LOL!) mix, who will likely reach 35-45 pounds when full grown. They are a great medium-sized breed.
The boys are a little taller than their sister, but they all have slender athletic bodies with skinnier, longer legs. This means these pups will make great exercise partners for those who are active. They are not crate trained and live in a home with a family who has 3 small children, a cat, and a yard to play in. Like most energetic pups, a home with a yard would be best, versus apartment living. However, exceptions can be made for the right adopter (i.e. work schedule and activity level). Please do not apply if you are not ready to be an active adopter with these pups, who understands the importance of dog/puppy training and socialization. The right adopter will need to keep their minds and bodies active, as they can get bored without mental stimulation (herding breeds are very smart and need to be kept active and mentally stimulated).
The pups have already been sterilized. Therefore, approved adopters can potentially adopt on the same day as the “meet and greet.” Therefore, please do not apply unless you are ready to adopt immediately. If you are interested, please fill out an online adoption application at www.arwob.org. Don’t wait!
