TJ was found in the streets of Tijuana while a good sam was feeding some stray pups and she approached the pups to eat the kibble being tossed on the ground as well. As the pups were being picked up from the street to be taken into rescue, the kitty was also hitching a ride into rescue.
TJ is sadly the real depiction of a Baja stray animal. She had a visible injured/deformed front leg and a hurt eye which was actually a ruptured eye. Once brought into San Diego and taken to several veterinarians, we knew she would need to have the very painful eye situation taken care of by removing her eye as there was no way to fix it. After Xrays and assesment from a board certified specialist, her leg was also not going to be repaired and hence it was best to be removed.
AND, as a trifecta, the poor girl was also pregnant and suffering from an upper respiratory infection.
After a week of treatment for her cold, she was scheduled for her triple surgeries but after a few hours the vet decided to stop at the eye enucleation and leg amputation; her spay followed a couple of weeks later. Now, she is ready for adoption and she would love a family who is looking to adopt a young adult cat who is very people friendly; she is a very sweet kitty. She originally arrived being cat friendly but since her surgeries has not been able to be around other cats so she may be happy as the only pet in the home. We know she has been fine around cats before, we have no information about dogs.
Tj will not require any special treatments but will have a couple small limitations like jumping on/off things.
We would love a foster family for TJ as soon as 4/23. PLlease submit an application online at arwob.org
