To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Penelope (aka Bella) and her 3 siblings have quite the story to tell. They were rescued in Tijuana by a passerby that heard the sound of whining near a trash bin. Thankfully they went to investigate and found these tiny angels in an empty dog food sack, ready to be collected by the compact trash truck! By pure miracle and being in the right place at the right time, the good Samaritan rescued them before trash day.

We think they are a shepherd/border collie mix of some kind, so we feel these girls will be medium-large sized dogs when they are full grown, at about 50 pounds. These adorable little girls are being fostered by a family in San Diego and will be ready to go home on Saturday, March 10th.

Here is what Penelope’s foster family has said about her (they are calling her Bella): “Bella is the fluffiest of her litter. She loves to run and play and has endless energy. You'll always find her with a smile on her face. When she can slow down long enough, she enjoys being held.”

We encourage you to consider submitting an online adoption application right away so that we can get these girls into their forever loving home as soon as they are ready. We offer foster-to-adopt programs, so that potential adopters can get to know the pups.
