Meet Goldy!

Goldy is a young 1-2 year old poodle, spaniel, terrier mix. It is hard to pinpoint her breed, but we know she is beautiful! She has a gorgeous chocolate-colored coat and incredible mesmerizing eyes! She is the perfect small to medium size dog and she is waiting to meet you!

Goldy was rescued from a bad home, or simply put from a bad owner. She was rescued from a life of squalor and being chained up 24/7 in the yard. You can see from the photos why one of our ARWOB volunteers who was traveling in Mexico had to rescue this girl and her 6 “bear” puppies right away. All of her puppies have been adopted and now it is Goldy’s turn!

Gold rides well in the car and does okay in her crate She is very puppy like and playful and just adores people and children! But she will need an adopter who is willing to enroll her in dog training classes so she can learn leash manners. She would love to find an active adopter to go running and hiking with, or to visit the dog park. :-)

Goldy is a great dog, who is learning to live in a normal home and is almost housebroken. She is s total love and just wants to please her humans. She does display separation anxiety when left alone and will bark and whine for the first few minutes, but will eventually calm down. We believe a home setting would be better for her, rather than an apartment setting since she loves to play and has a lot of energy. A home with a yard, and people and/or other dogs to play with her would be best. Preferably we are looking for an adopter who has a busy household, perhaps a large family who is willing to give Goldy a lot of attention. Or an adopter that works from home, is retired, a stay-at-home parent, or even better someone that can take her to work, would be ideal. We believe with the right situation and some training, she will learn that she is not going to be abandoned and that her separation anxiety will disappear.

If you would like to meet this adorable girl, please fill out an online application. We offer foster-to-adopt programs if you would like to get to know Goldy. This is a great way to see her personality up close and personal. Don’t wait, as she really wants to find her forever, loving home!  ARWOB.org
