Dog & Cat Adoption event

Stop by between 11am-1pm to meet some of our adoptable kiddos! We will be INSIDE the PetSmart store (left of the cashiers) by the CAC (Cat adoption center) the kitties you can meet with inside the center and the canine friends will be outside of the room. It's a small event so we won't be able to bring all our rescues. However, if you can please submit a dog or cat adoption application online and contact us at animalrescuers@sbcglobal.net BEFORE Friday 6pm and let us know you are attending and would like to meet certain rescues it would Help us greatly. If you don't see the dog or cat you are interested in as attending (check the animal attendance under event calendar) please send us an email and request if he/she can attend for you to meet. We will confirm via email if we can have him/her attend and if not we can help facilitate a meet at another day/time. Thank you for your interest in adoption and we hope you can make it! Note: Dead adopters, PLEASE bring the following with you to the event: 1- picture ID ei. Driver license 2- proof of address ei. Utility bill 3- WRITTEN landlord approval/ HOA pet policy verification that has your name, address and pet policy verification - a simple white paper or email will not qualify (we need legitimacy from the document) 4- home checks are a case to case. In some cases we will need in person home check but in most we perform virtual Home checks ei FaceTime, Skype or video (it must be good quality, show your actual Address by including outside of your home to see the house #, walk inside with primary household focuse ( we don't need to see bathrooms and bedrooms or closets) if it's a home include the garage and yard (full perimeter from one end to the other) if you live in a town home or condo please include balconies/patios. 5- Have a collar/leash or carrier 6- Adoption fee, check, money order or cash - SORRY we don't accept credit or debit cards (please, check the biography to know adoption fee) Thank you !!

Dog Adoption Event

Would you like to meet one or a few of our rescue dogs? Submit an application online TODAY! Our rescues are in different locations throughout San Diego and events are important for our kiddos to be seen. However, a lack of "Volunteer Power" really determines the amount of events we can hold a month as well as the number of rescues who attend. For this reason, for this last minute add on event we will only have puppies attending and for those adult dogs you like to meet we would greatly appreciate an application or an email letting us know you are interested in meeting someone in particular. Help us get this amazing dogs HOME and send us an inquiry at animalrescuers@sbcglobal.net MOST of our rescues are ready to go home TODAY and because we are a foster based organization placing "Holds" on rescues is not feasible. We recommend you only apply for one of our rescues of you are ready to adopt the day you meet or within a couple days to get everything set up. That said, we do have a process for adoption and recommend you read the adoption process to make sure you are Ready and prepared to offer your home to a new partner in crime!

VIP (Very Important Pooches)

Details Very Important Pooches (VIPs) of San Diego: It’s time to prepare for the go-to doggie event of the year at The Wine Pub, which raises funds for a local animal rescue nonprofit that works on both sides of the border. New this year, the stylish event includes a dress-up competition, complete with a panel of judges. On Sunday, Aug. 13, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., The Wine Pub will roll out the red carpet (literally) and “pup”arazzi will photograph dozens of San Diego’s socialite pups and their humans for the 4th Annual Very Important Pooches. Four-legged friends in tuxes and dresses will enjoy an evening of pampering at The Pub, complete with bottle-bowl service and gourmet doggie treats, including dishes of chicken and wild rice, “pupsicles” and homemade, all-natural dog treats. Very Important Pooches will welcome its dog-loving neighbor, Good Dog Pet Outfitters, which provides real food for San Diego’s feathered and furred friends. This local business will feature products for purchase. Proceeds from the afternoon event will benefit Animal Rescuers Without Borders. No tickets are required for the VIP event – just a fancy dress code. Guests can enroll in the costume judging contest when they arrive. All guests will receive a goodie bag donated by Good Dog Pet Outfitters.

We have some adorable rescues just waiting to meet you! Join us during Petco National Adoption Event Weekend! It will be a small adoption event and animal Attendance will depend on having my adopters submit dog or cat adoption applications for rescues they like to meet. Without an adoption application submited online we can only bring a selected few rescues to attend as its volunteer availability dependent. So, Please, submit an application and call or email us and let us know you are interested in meeting a particular dog or cat at this event and once we know you will be attending to meet him/her we will make confirm attendance. Looking for a kitty or two to adopt Then stop on by! Note- If looking to adopt one of our canine rescues please contact us animalrescuers@sbcglobal.net we will need a Submited dog adoption application online or email requesting a dog attendance for him/her to attend as this is primarily a feline adoption event but we will be HAPPY to bring a couple dogs/pups too! We have some adorable kittens, Teens and adults who can't wait to meet you! This is PetSmart National Adoption Event Weekend and ARWOB will be holding An Open House at BOTH cat adoption center locations on BOTH Saturday AND Sunday to make sure our kittos have a purrfect opportunity to find their forever homes as they are adorable kitties READY to go home! We will have a few Baja. SD and Hurricane Harvey kitties who would love to be adopted. For this weekend only we will have a special adoption fee of: Kittens(8 mo and younger) - $ 100 Teens/Adults (9mo and above)-$50 Adopt A second friend - waived fee Please, submit a cat adoption application online and submit ahead of time to help speed the process. Last schedule adoption event for the month of November - Stop by and meet our kitties from the adoption center plus a couple more and a few selected dogs attending today! PS - dogs will be selected through the previous week on applicants who submit application for adoption online ahead of time so we are aware there is someone looking to meet them OR if we are contacted via email requesting to meet a certain dog. For lack of dog handlers we depend on future adopters to ask us ahead of time to meet a specific rescue in order to bring him/her along. Thank you! Please submit an application for adoption ahead of time if you see someone you like To meet and to speed the adoption process we will need: Picture ID Proof of address Landlord written approval HOA pet policy Short video of the home. And, since adoption applicants have priority over fostering applicants, it is also best if you attend the event 45-30 minutes before its end to avoid waiting to find out which pets are still available to foster.

The list may change as days progress, especially if someone is adopted days ahead of the event. Last update will be done by Friday 9/13/19 6pm. We don’t have enough volunteers to have all rescues attend, if you see a rescue you are specifically interested in meeting submit an application days in advance for us to contact you and hopefully add him/her to the attendance. Don’t wait for adoption event day to meet and/or adopt. Submit an application TODAY for a volunteer to review your application and contact you. Meet and greets can be scheduled @ Petsmart clairemont. Once you submit an application for adoption, a volunteer will contact you via email/phone call to finalize processing your application. We may contact you the same day or within 3 days, the calls only take 10-20min. IF you submit an application and have not received communication from a Volunteer please call or emails us @ 619-977-3593/animalrescuers@sbcglobal.net Once your application is processed and approved we will send an e-mail with documents explaining what we need applicants to gather and have ready and prepared with them the day of the meet/greet or adoption event to help facilitate the process and allow same day adoptions, should the meet and greet go well. Adoption applications are transferred to other rescues should you decide not to adopt the dog/cat you sublimed the application for and have a better connection with someone else. If the rescue you apply for has been adopted, you can transfer the application to a different rescue if you see/meet someone you are interested in. Foster to adopt trials are available mostly for dogs/cats 6mo of age and older. Typically 6mo-1yr is a one week trial and 1yr/adults and over can be 1-2 week foster to adopt trial. Foster to adopt trial applicants need to submit ADOPTION applications (not foster applications) we only need foster applications if there is NO WAY you are interested in adopting. Foster to adopt trials can only be done if the rescue you are interested doesn’t have other applicants interested in adopting him/her. We recommend adopters to come towards the first hour of the event and for fosters or foster to adopt families to come in towards the last 1.5 hour of the event to spend time with the rescues and see who is available to be fostered/foster to adopt. You can find individual information of the rescues, history and adoption fees by reading the rescues biographies online. It will help explain what homes are best suited for each rescue. We will Promptly starting breaking down at 2pm so we hope you can make it by 1pm to have enough time to meet with the dogs/cats you are interested in. *We also have a cat event the day before, Saturday 11-2pm only the resident kitties will be in attendance * We will have cats INSIDE the store both inside the cat adoption center for our resident kitties and several kittens and cats in kennels visiting for the day. You can actually stop by anytime during Petsmart clairemont store hours in the week ahead of time to meet a couple of the kitties attending who are our cat adoption Center residents. The rest of the attendees will only Be there during event hours since they are in a foster home. Steps to adopt? Take a look at our attendance list to learn which rescues are attending. The list may change as days progress, especially if someone is adopted days ahead of the event. Last update will be done by Saturday 9/14/19 6pm. We don’t have enough volunteers to have all rescues attend, if you see a rescue you are specifically interested in meeting submit an application days in advance for us to contact you and hopefully add him/her to the attendance. Don’t wait for adoption event day to meet and/or adopt. Submit an application TODAY for a volunteer to review your application and contact you. Meet and greets can be scheduled @ Petsmart clairemont or Petsmart Oceanside or foster homes (it’s case to Case dependent) Once you submit an application for adoption, a volunteer will contact you via email/phone call to finalize processing your application. We may contact you the same day or within 3 days, the calls only take 10-20min. IF you submit an application and have not received communication from a Volunteer within this time frame, please call or emails us @ 619-977-3593/animalrescuers@sbcglobal.net Once your application is processed and approved we will send an e-mail with documents explaining what we need applicants to gather and have ready and prepared with them the day of the meet/greet or adoption event to help facilitate the process and allow same day adoptions, should the meet and greet go well. Our friends at Lifetime Animal Care Center are having a grand re-opening celebration for their expanded veterinary clinic on Saturday, December 7th, 12 noon – 2 PM. ARWOB will have adoptable cats on site at the event. 8 adoptable kittos will be attending and you can find and meet us INSIDE the clinic. FREE first exams to any of the adopted felines attending for adopters. Participants will be given a passport when they arrive and will get paw stamps at each stop. The last stop will be Santa, where they’ll get to take pet photos
