"I have been wanting to send you this note for a long time - but the problem is, I never run out of wonderful things to say about Max and the message gets too long. I've enclosed a couple of pictures of him. As you can see, he made it on the bed, and his favorite thing in the world is a ball - he has that Jack Russell obsession about it. Do you remember that first day that we met him and I brought a blue ball for him, he showed as little interest in that ball as he did us, that day! Scott and I never imagined what we were getting into when we added Max to our small family. We just thought we were bringing home a little doggy companion that we could enjoy. How could we ever have known how very special he would become within a very short period of time. We cannot imagine life without him. He brings us joy and laughter every day - everything he does is with an infectious joy, energy and enthusiasm. He is quite possibly the happiest little soul on the planet. Those that meet him are struck by him; his energetic and bouncy manner as he chases a ball with unbelievable speed and brings it back, only to tease you with the ball, snatching it back until he decides you can have it to toss again for him. He has a great sense of humor. And of course, we are constantly told how "cute" and "adorable" he is. I mean please, just look at him. People want to know where we got him, presumably because they'd like one just like him. I don't believe there is another one like him, unless we can find his siblings! Once we had taught Max that the house was not his bathroom he has never had any more house training issues in our house or any house we visit. He comes when he is called, most of time :-). He doesn't dig or bark unnecessarily. He pays attention to what we want of him and we understand each other very well. He comes with me on my three-mile walk in the mornings and generally leads the way and sets the pace. He sleeps all day on the bed until Scott comes home to throw the ball for him - several times. Then he snuggles and cuddles with us as he settles in for the night. He sleeps IN the bed and I'm still not sure how he managed that one. On the weekends he comes to the barn with me and has learned how to stay safe and away from the horses feet. He has become friends with the kids and dogs in the cul-de-sac, and gets very excited when his doggy friends come over and visit for a cookie or to stay the night. At social events, at home or at other homes, he hangs out with the crowd and usually finds a child to play with or an adult to score a treat from. As I am in danger of making this too long again I shall stop now. Thank you for finding this little treasure for us. We love and worship every moment we have with this precious little guy. Please feel free to stop by and visit him if ever you have time and see for yourself what a joy he has become." Sarah and Scott Carlsbad
