Lila (fka Butternut) joined her new adoptive family in December 2022. Her adoptive dad provided this nice update about her. She is living her best life!
"Everything is going great. We decided to name her Lila, which suits her and she seems to love. Lila is getting close to 50 lbs now and just lost the last of her puppy teeth. We did training with her and she is doing fairly well with it, most of it being our need to practice with her a little more. She is sweet, loving and silly, but also very smart. She has been a great addition to the family and we are so happy to have her. We just took her to the OB dog beach for the first time and she did great and had a blast. We took her to the Penasquitos hike as well (just did 2 miles) and she loved that too."
Bailey (fka Elm) was adopted in December 2022 and her new mom shared this nice "pupdate" about her:
"Elm's name is now Bailey and she's doing great. She has been a great addition to our family. She loves everyone and everything. She gets lots of exercise and stimulation with my daycare dogs. We did a six week Awesome Adolescence training through the SD Humane Society so far. Bailey is very treat motivated and easy to work with. We look forward to many happy years with her."
Max (fka Frodo) was adopted in July of 2018. We recently received a very nice update about him. He is living his best life with his adoptive mom and dad, along with his canine sibling Jack. It's always wonderful to hear from former adopters!
"Frodo was renamed Max :) Max is about 5.5 years old and he’s the apple of my eye. My husband and I adopted him in hopes of growing our fur family and giving our other dog Jack a best friend. I think it worked out great! He is also so sweet and gentle with both of my nieces."
Cinders (fka Sweets) was adopted a year ago in February 2022. Her adoptive mom sent us this adorable photo of her and let us know that she's doing great! We love hearing from adopters who are celebrating their fur baby's "gotcha date."
"Today as it’s the first anniversary of our adopting Sweets (aka Cinders)! She is such a sweet girl and we love her immensely. Everyone comments on how friendly she is! She seems quite content and happy here with us."
Mila (fka Almond) was adopted in November 2022. We received a heartwarming "pupdate" from her adoptive mom. It sounds like Mila is living her best life with her new canine brother!
"We adore her! She constantly makes us laugh. My older dog has come back to life and is so much more active and plays with her. He was an only dog and he has a spring in his step now. Same for my mother. Definitely a never ending bundle of energy, I work with her sometimes between classes and she certainly looks to my other dog for guidance with what to and what not to do. Two of our cats even play with her. We call her Mila now, short for Milagra which means "Miracle."
