Rocky and Roy were adopted together in June 2022. They waited a long time to find their "purrfect" home and it was well worth it! Their adoptive mom sent us this wonderful update about them. They certainly won the jackpot and that makes us very happy!
"Rocky & Roy are doing great. They adapted to us very quickly and pretty much rule the house. Rocky is the most gentle soul and loves to chase after balls. Roy is very talkative and always wants to be where the people are. They love watching the wild animals out the window and even some cat tv on the iPad!"
Three siblings from the Good Girl Pups litter have become great friends! Their owners reached out to us so that we could put them in touch and they have been having doggy play dates with their three girls, who were all adopted from ARWOB in November 2020. As you can see, they are having a great time and their adoptive families believe they remember that they are sisters!
We received a sweet update about Red, who was adopted in April 2022. He has quite the rescue story, so hearing this wonderful update really warms our hearts! Here is what his adoptive mom has to say:
"I just love Red so much! When I saw his ad on FB I had lost my beloved orange cat Mowgli just a couple of months prior and was still grieving and not sure if I would adopt another cat. I saw his sweet sad eyes and his story about his broken pelvis and how he had been stuck in a kennel. I cried and immediately filled out an application for him. We did foster to adopt but knew right away that we would likely be keeping him. He’s got a ton of character and is a sweet boy. He loves to snooze in front of our sliding glass door and our neighbor’s toddler is obsessed with watching him. When he first came to us he was shy but curious. He had wiry fur and weak back legs from his broken pelvis. As he started to warm up we could tell how much he wanted to explore and play. He got right to bunny hopping up and down the stairs which was cute and quirky. He has really regained a lot of strength in his back legs and cruises around the house like a normal cat now! You almost can’t even tell he has a broken pelvis anymore. His fur has gotten really soft and beautiful and he loves to yell MROW in the house whenever he wants food or attention. He almost always is happy to come say hello when I call his name. He fits in so well and is a great buddy for our cat Mouse who lost his best friend not long ago. He has even really come around to being held and will let me pick him up and scratch his face. I’ve never kept a name any of my fur babies were given by a rescue, but Red suited him well so we kept it! I’m very grateful that I saw his ad as he has really helped heal my broken heart. Thanks for giving us our sweet boy!"
Did we say that we LOVE repeat adopters? Yes, we absolutely love it when an adopter decides to come back to ARWOB and give a forever home to another one of our rescues! That’s exactly what happened with Maddie (fka Mandie) and Rose. Maddie was adopted in April 2020 and Rose joined the family in April 2022. Here is what their adoptive mom has to say about these two amazing pups:
“Rose is doing awesome. Her & Maddie absolutely adore each other. I have been doing a lot of clicker training & leash training with both of them just using a pause method when they start pulling & restarting when they release the tension & it seems to be working. Rose has come a long way with potty training & is your typical puppy who wants to be involved in everything & loves to play. Thankfully she is very good in the crate. She has come a long way with her confidence. She was shy & timid with strangers & new situations at first but is doing awesome at doggie daycare & loving meeting new people now even when big sis Maddie isn’t around. She also has fit in perfect with her fur cousins & friends dogs & loves dog beach as much as Maddie & I.”
Fitz (fka Romeo) was adopted from ARWOB in February 2022. His adoptive family just loves him. Here is what his new dad has to say:
"We’ve changed his name to Fitz! Fitz has become a household name amongst our neighbors at our apartment complex and rooftop dog park. He’s a regular at Balboa Park and Coronado Dog Beach. He quickly learned tricks to sit, shake, touch and twirl on command. He is one of the biggest Padres fans you’ll ever meet as he loves his daily walks around Petco Park. He’s a very sociable boy that makes new puppy and human friends everywhere he goes."
