Sometimes it just takes a little extra love and effort to adopt a rescue animal. Oftentimes the animals we take under our care have had a rough start before they were rescued. This is a wonderful example of an adopter that refused to give up on their new puppy. Benji (fka Dolby) was adopted from ARWOB in April 2020. Although the first couple of months were difficult, Benji's new adoptive family stayed the course. Here is what they have to say about him:
"The first 3 months were pretty rough but we just couldn’t let him go and so we decided to give it some more time and he actually settled down and is used to our routine now. He loves all kinds of dogs and humans and everyone at our neighborhood knows him. He can outrun any dogs at the park and can play non stop!"
We received a fantastic update about Ziggy (fka Dusty), who was adopted from us in January 2020. Here is what his family has to say:
"Ziggy (AKA Dusty) has been awesome and it feels like we have had him longer than just six months. He still has a lot of puppy energy and is a fast learner of tricks. We’ve done some camping with him and he loves the dog park (bark bark is what he thinks it is called). He’s a very friendly and loving dog. Lucky to have him."
Sweet Dottie was adopted from ARWOB last month (June 2020) and we just got these adorable photos from her adoptive family. They also included a great "pupdate" about Dottie:
"Dottie is doing great! She’s enjoying puppy class and loves playing with the other dogs. She’s already mastered the “sit, “down”, and “get on your mat” commands. We had a vet visit this week and she’s happy and healthy. She’s just shy of 20lbs already! No potty accidents in the house thanks to your hard work!"
What a great update about Noodle (fka Daffy)! We received this today from her adoptive family:
"Just wanted to let you know that Daffy (we call her Noodle now) is doing great. She loves to play and cuddle and has been thoroughly enjoying having us working from home recently. She loves to hike and made a goat friend earlier this year and Andrew's mom's house."
We received this adorable update about Lenny and Squiggy (fka as Deputy and Sheriff):
"Wanted to send you an update on Deputy and Sheriff, aka Lenny and Squiggy. The boys have settled in well and now claim our home as their own—we’re just the hired help. Both came a long way these past few weeks and are total cuddlers. They seem to be getting comfortable with their unique identities and don’t require be with each other 24 hours a day—just 23...and a half. They still love their vigorous games of tag at times we fear the kitty trees (and walls to the house) will topple. Their chatter as both increased in intensity and volume—I’m sure there are some four-letter words in there, but we’d rather not know. Thanks again for your help to bring these wonderful boys into our lives."
