Nam was adopted in December 2024. He is best friends with his new feline sister Poppy! Here is what his adoptive dad and mom has to say about him: "We love Nam so much, and we are so happy that he is a part of our family! He loves to play with toys, snuggle, and sit on our laps. He loves hanging out with us--and his sister, Poppy (our other cat that we rescued before Nam). They are best friends, and they love napping, playing, and chasing each other around! We can't imagine our lives without Nam now, and we are so grateful to have him."
Clover (fka Nadia) was adopted in December 2017. She recently gained a sweet canine sibling named Mocha (fka Chesnut) in November 2024, who is also an ARWOB pup. We just love repeat adopters! They really won the jackpot with their family. Their adoptive mom shared this adorable photo with us. Talk about being BFFs!
Neve (fka Natalie) was adopted in December 2023. We received some sweet photos and an update from her adoptive mom. She even has a new Italian name!
"Natalie - whose nickname is now Neve (pronounced "nay-vay"), which is the Italian word for "snow" - is doing well."
Taz (fka Napster) was adopted in June 2023 by one of our ARWOB fosters. As the saying goes, Taz was a "foster failure," which means his foster mom fell in love with him and couldn't imagine not making him a permanent part of her family. He has a big canine brother named Apollo and they get along great. We are so happy for Taz! Here is the update that his adoptive mom sent to us:
"Napster is doing great! His new name is Taz! Since he was a foster fail it was an easy transition. He is such a happy and friendly boy and all our friends and neighbors who had met him previously were so excited to hear the news he would be staying. He absolutely adores his 80lb Pyrenees mix brother Apollo and loves playing with him. He has started going on training palk walks and has gone hiking a few times as well. I love going on road trips and camping with my dogs and we are planning a camping trip for the fall which I'm sure he'll love. After losing my first dog last year who was an ARWOB alumn I am proud to now have another."
Maggie (fka Navy) was adopted from ARWOB in May 2022. We are delighted to receive this wonderful "pupdate" about Maggie from her adoptive mom:
"Navy (we renamed her Maggie) has been such a joy. She is the best dog I have ever had - so good with other dogs and people, so non-reactive, doesn't jump or bark. I frequently use her with kids who are scared of dogs because she will lie quietly while they stroke her ears, feed her treats, or even give her hugs. I've had multiple people say "I'd get a dog if I'd know it would have her personality!" We think her street smarts from being a street dog have caused her to develop super good social skills. Other dogs will be on leash, lunging and reactive towards her, and she just looks at them calmly. She plays with big dogs and will set limits if they get too rough. She has mastered a high speed barrel roll that is hilarious. She also does a 4 legged hop into the bushes to catch geckos that is adorable. (So far, we've been unable to get a pic of those moves.) She loves to play (OB Dog Beach, Coronado Dog Beach, Fiesta Island) and will get happy zoomies as soon as she hits the sand. She is a sensitive soul - the first time we cleaned her ears she wouldn't look at us for two days, but as she is learning to trust us she is coming out of her shell and becoming more goofy and silly. Every day I give thanks that we adopted her because she is such a source of joy for me. She is so smart and learns new commands in just a couple of trials and is starting to play fetch. She doesn't beg, jump, or whine. We are starting an obedience class this week just for the fun of it. Once I even brought her into the office with me and she was a champ with my patients. All my best days start when we get up early and walk around Fiesta Island."
