Sadie (fka Maru)
Sadie (fka Maru) was adopted in January 2021. She recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge and her mama shared this sweet photo with us.

"It was extremely devastating to lose my little precious Sadie. She was just such a joy in my life. We went everywhere together. She had her own little car booster seat so she could see out the window. Her last day here on Earth before making that transition I took her for a ride in my truck which was one of her favorite things to do and fed her cream cheese which she loved and she would lick it off my fingers. She was the best little dog. I feel so blessed to have had her in my life and I know she had the very best life with me and was so spoiled. Thank you for allowing me to adopt her and bringing her joy to my life. I just wish it would have been longer."

Autzie (fka Yuma)

Autzie (fka Yuma) was adopted in 2012 and spent a beautiful life with her family.  She recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  Her adoptive family shared this lovely photo of her and this message to ARWOB:

"Thank you so very much. Receiving this email from you was so incredible — I had lost track of Yuma's adoption page, and reading her story and seeing her brother's and sister's was incredible. Her memory will live on in all of our hearts. I've attached some pictures of our beautiful girl. Her bio made me laugh with the estimation of her being 35-45 lbs. She ended up being 75 pounds with the longest legs ever! We believe she had greyhound in her. Her demeanor was calm and gentle like that breed. From the day we adopted her she joined me at work at the Petco offices. She and I spent 6 years going to work together every day, and she was a star there — modeling in photoshoots, playing with all the toy samples and her friends. When I had my daughter, she spent the last 6 years of her life as a wonderful big sister and companion. We miss her so much, but we know she will send us another puppy when it's time. Maybe from ARWOB."

Heidi (aka Cricket)

We received a message from Heidi's adoptive mom about her passing:

"This is a very sad notice that Heidi has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. She was 14 1/2 years old and had an amazing ride in life. She traveled all over the USA with us and peed in more States than most Americans have ever seen. The pain of her loss is all too fresh for me now. She was a huge part of my life, my adventures and my heart. I am having her cremated and she will always be with me. Thank you for all you do and know that Heidi had a very good life."

Chacha (fka Vera)
Chacha (fka Vera) was adopted in July 2012 and recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Her family loved her so much and gave her such a wonderful life! "We adopted Chacha from ARWOB in July of 2012 and so we think she was about 13, but until this past week, she never acted her age. We all moved from San Diego to Portugal in 2014 and she loved it here. She loved hiking and going to the beach, digging for clams and chasing the foam from the surf, and delighted in scaring up a large flock of seagulls. She and her adopted brother, Buck, used to play and wrestle and they had a great time. He is looking for her everywhere. She was a love and our baby girl and we miss her so very much, but are grateful to you for saving her from the streets of Ensenada and for letting us have her in our family."

Paco
In loving memory of Paco. ARWOB sends our heartfelt condolences to Paco's family. May he run free in the meadow across the Rainbow Bridge. "Paco crossed the rainbow bridge early Easter Sunday morning (4/17/22). He had been in good health but suddenly started to feel unwell and progressed over about a week. Eventually he was admitted to the hospital and found to have a bleed to his carotid artery. They weren't really sure how it occurred. He had surgery and made it through but developed complications shortly after. I was able to be with him when he passed. Thank you so much for saving him and bringing him to me, though it was short, it was the happiest 4 years, 3 months and 12 days of my life. We had great adventures and he was the best boy. I will be making a donation in his honor."
