To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Meet Kashi! Kashi was rescued in Baja as a single puppy running around the dangerous streets. He was rescued the first week of February and was fostered with a great family who has been loving him until he was ready to come to San Diego to find a forever family.

Kashi is now living with a foster family in San Diego. Here is what his current foster mom has to say about him: Kashi is a sweet and loving puppy! He needs a family who can provide him a lot of attention since he gets very lonely when ignored. He loves walks and running around and is very active and fun, so he would be great for kids or active people. Kashi loves other dogs after a few minutes of getting used to them. He also likes cats and will bark at them to initiate play, but is not aggressive toward them. He is wonderful with all people, including children and seeks attention from everyone. Kashi is great on a leash and likes long walks – he can even keep up with the big dogs! He learns very quickly and responds to the commands of “sit” and “come.” He isn’t 100% housetrained, but he knows when he’s done wrong and we are working on that. He would do best with someone who has a yard, kids, and other dogs as he is very social and enjoys the stimulation. He would not do well being kept in a crate for long periods of time since he has a lot of energy, so that is why we feel he would be best suited with an adopter that has a yard for him to play in. Kashi doesn't nip or show any aggression toward people – he is absolutely adorable and would be a very fun and loving addition to the family.
