About Honey | |
Honey is a medium-sized and fully grown at 42 pounds, but needs to gain a few more pounds so she will be approximately 45 pounds once she reaches her ideal weight. Because of her breed, Honey requires an adopter who alreadys leads an active lifestyle and will enroll her in dog training classes. We believe Honey was a yard dog before coming to us, so she will need time to learn how to be an indoor dog.
Here are some notes from her current foster parents:
Honey is a very well mannered dog. She rides great in the car. She isn't accustomed to a crate but will go in and out of one without a fuss. She comes when called and is a dream walking on the leash. She stays right next to you and doesn't pull or react to other dogs. In a crowded room of people she will happily lay down quietly next to you without bothering anyone. It took some effort to get her to understand the "sit" command, but after getting the format, she subsequently learned how to "stay", "shake" and "lay down" in just one session each! She is a smart girl and eager to please for treats or affection as her reward. She can be an anxious girl when left along and might bark at strange noises, but we are sure she just needs time to adjust and settle. With exercise, we know she will calm down.
