To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Rubi came to a friend of the rescuer after the owner passed away in Christmas of 2014. She had been with her owner since she was a pup and although she was not well kept around the family, she was very well fed.

Rubi has a playful side; she gets along well with other dogs and would probably do well regularly around a cat since she currently lives with one at her foster home. She is learning how to walk on a leash and is currently being crate trained.

***Notes from her foster Mom***

Rubi is a doll...she POUNCES...yes, folks, POUNCES; it is possibly the cutest, most funny thing I have ever seen. Pounces off the couch, pounces around the house, pounces on her food bowl if its empty. TOO CUTE!! Rubi is doing fantastic with kennel training, of course, these sweet little lady prefers to be out with her foster family. Rubi plays well with her 40 pound Shepherd mix foster brother; with her feline foster sisters she does well. She is inquisitive of them and would love to be friends with them. She respects my dominant kitty but with my shy kitty she can be over-whelming.

Rubi entertains herself well with toys and is doing fantastic on our walks. We are working on teaching her "off," and she seems to learn quickly.
