Ginger is new to the rescue group, however, back in 2013 we had adopted her sisters to wonderful families ( her sisters,Gingerbread, Eggnog and Fruitcake already adopted!) but recently Ginger's adopter contacted the rescue group knowing we had helped Gingers sisters when first rescued and we could say no to making sure our girls sister was safe and in good hands. Ginger is very CUTE and a typically playful, happy dog. She was lucky to have been able to be accepted into a loving family who could foster her and help her through her transition of saying goodbye to her family.
Her foster family has done wonderul by her and have been helping her incorporate into a normal life in a loving home. Here are a few notes from her foster family:
- sweet and friendly with all humans
- great with toddlers and school-aged children (has NEVER growled, does not jump up on my toddler)
- good with small dogs (haven't observed her with larger dogs)
- listens well (comes when called, goes into a room when asked, etc)
- happy all of the time
- does not bark much at all (so far)
- does not stop moving! never lies down unless in crate! she has lots of energy, but no negative behaviors
- does not chew or destroy
- LOVES to carry a dirty sock all of the house and outside (whatever dirty sock she can find), but never chews it
- great with crate, likes the crate
- wants to play with the other dogs, but she is not sure exactly how to
- likes to go on walks, but needs work on leash (pulls a little and all over the place)
- prefers to always be with her humans (does not like to be alone)
- pees when we pet her, but she is getting better, seems like it is happening less often now that she is more comfortable, and less often with certain family members
- would do best in a family that can walk her often and play with her often (she has a lot of energy)! seems to attach more to an adult female, but likes everyone. she does not want to just lie around and watch tv!
