Shelly, Nelly, Kelly, Belly and Jelly
Meet, Belly, one of Shelly's puppies!
Shelly was rescued from an empty lot where she had found safe heaven to give birth to 7 pups among the trash and debri in the lot. She found the right place on a warnout and very dirty mattress and had her babies. She cared for them for almost 2 months until an ARWOB volunteer came to realize she was there and to their surprise so were the 7 pups. By the time she came back with a crate and supplies to pick them up people had already taken 3 pups and so only Shelly and her babies were left. 3 girls (Nelly, Kelly & Belly) and 1 boy (Jelly)
It so happens there is ALSO another mama dog med size shepherd who along with Shelly also took shelter in that same area and recently gave birth to her pups. So, we have 2 mama dogs who together have been trying to survive and protect their babies. That family is not yet ready BUT Shelly is looking for a foster home as of 2/5/15 as her babies they all have been Vet checked and are ready for some one on one loving in a foster home or adoptive home. Shelly is very sweet with people, trying to learn new things like entering a crate and walking on a leash and her pups are typical happy playful pups.
