To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

We not only provide you with everything you need to take care of one of our rescues, but the experience is SO fulfilling. By placing one animal into a foster home, you allow us to save another. We are always in need of foster parents.

Meet Cairo, an absolute sweetheart!

She was relinquished to a local San Diego shelter and, after being passed for adoption, ARWOB exited her as the staff chose her as their favorite animal!

She had been with a foster family for a few months and her foster mom had this to say about her:

"Cairo is a sweet loving cat. She's friendly, playful and loyal. She loves her scratching post and little mouse toys. Cairo likes to curl up on her cat bed or on her velvet pillowcase. She loves my dog and exists peacefully with the cat. I call her "purr face." She loves to have her belly scratched! Cairo always uses her litter box and does not mark. She is a TERRIFIC cat and will make someone a loving pet for a very long time."

If you are looking for a very special cat who is an AMAZING lap warmer, "purr machine", and loves people, Cairo is the girl for you! She loved her foster brother dog and would be great in a home with a dog, but she lives around cats...granted, she would LOVE to be the only cat.
