This is a sad and happy story of rescue where both shelters and rescues come together to help the pups in need.
When a border patrol stopped an individual when he was trying to smuggle 11 puppies from Mexico to San Diego ALL in the same crate and all very malnurished AND underaged.
People who just want to make money out of exploting dogs who care less about the wellbeing of the dogs/puppies and remove the babies from their mother at too early of an age. We will never know what happens to their mothers and where they are BUT the border patrol did an excellent job in sending the babies to a SD shelter where staff contacted rescue groups who could be better equipped to help ensure the survival of the babies.
Several rescue groups took different pups as there were 3 different litters in the mix.
ARWOB took in 5 pups and we were lucky to find a foster family for all pups. They are all doing great and because they are underage they will not be ready to be adopted until after 3/15/14.
If you would like to meet these babies please, file a dog adoption application online and if approved we will contact you to schedule a meet and greet knowing the pups are NOT available just yet but families can meet them and hopefully by the time they are ready they will all have homes waiting for them.
Small breed pups are NOT toys, they are adorable but need guidance and training more so than some large breeds, we are looking for families with time to care for a puppy and ensure they are enrolled in puppy training classes and have time to work on house training.
