|
Cappy is a Dachshund and full grown at 18 pounds. He is good with kids, adults and other dogs as well as most cats.
Cappy belonged to a man who wasn't home much at all. The man's sister could see that Cappy didn't have the human companionship he needed. She asked one of our rescuers to help Cappy find a home where he can enjoy hangin' out on the couch, taking a nice walk through the neighborhood or going for a Sunday drive with his humans. Cappy would love to live with another dog and have a yard to lounge in.
When Cappy first arrived to his foster home he exhibited extreme anxiety, probably because he was going through so much change in his life, he no longer had the people and home he knew. He had never been in a crate, he had mostly been an outside dog. He had a hard time adjuting to the crate BUT he has done wonderfully and is a very quiet calm and comfortable pup in his crate. He is fine in his crate for normal hours while his humans go to work or he would also like to spend time in the yard lounging with other dogs. Cappy has never had an accident inside the house. He is not a huge barker unless something provokes him. He is sweet and silly and typical Doxi behavior
Cappy is looking for a foster or adopter who have researched the breed and understand them as well as their physical and medical potential needs for the future.
