To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Meet Kara! Both she and her brother, Kirkland, were relinquished by a good samaritan in Mexico who orginally rescued them; however she wasn't able to care for them properly. She subsequently sought help from our group, knowing we could keep them safe. They are adorable and sweet pups who will be excellent companions as long as they have someone who will boost their confidence and teach them how to be well-behaved growing pups.

Kara's foster mom says:
"Kara is such a fun, happy puppy! She enjoys playing with our dog who is about twice her size, and also entertains herself by throwing toys around (which is hilarious!). Squeeky toys are her favorite. When she isn't playing, Kara never misses a chance to snuggle up with one of us on the couch. Belly rubs...OH YES! Loves them!
Kara just learned to use our doggie door to go outside and is making progress toward being housebroken. Positive reinforcement and treats are very very effective with Kara which is a big help! Kara is learning house manners quickly, sleeps all night in her crate and walks well on a leash. We leave her crate door open because she likes to nap in there on her blanket during the day. She doesn't mind sharing her naptime space with our dog and is not food-aggressive. Both dogs eat at the same time with no problems. Kara would do well in a home with other dogs, or alone as the Queen of the Castle. Kara would be a good dog for an apartment or condo setting.
