Adorable Harold.
He is a very sweet white and black domestic short hair, weighing about 14 pounds. He is playful, curious, litter-boxed trained, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and healthy. Oh, and by the way, he loves his food!
Several years ago, when they were young kittens, Harold and his brothers came in to a veterinary hospital after a Good Sam found them looking very malnourished (under 2lbs.), with skin issues which, with care, were resolved, and one (Harold) with a missing eye (birth defect most likely). They were all at risk of being euthanized at the shelter, so ARWOB took them in. Harold and Hank were fostered and adopted together but, due to unforseen circumstances, Harold had to be rescued again....twice.
As you can see, this sweet boy has had a rocky start in life and has been a bit traumatized by some of these events. He is very shy and scared in an unfamiliar situation, but is also very affectionate and loves to have you scratch underneath his chin. Harold really needs an adopter or foster who has a lot of love to give, is patient and will take the time to help him become more trusting and less afraid. He needs a calm, stable environment with adults, although he may be fine with children over 12. Children younger who want to lug the kitty around or who might play a little rough and loudly with him will frighten him and make him uncomfortable.
Harold will have NO future eye-related problems. He just needs to find an adopter who will look PAST his looks and think of him as the HANDSOME kitty he is. The only way Harold is affected is his reaction when approached at certain angles where is lacking the ability to use peripheral vision. Otherwise, he has the vision of a hawk (in his one eye) and can do just about anything his companions can do or even better! He can climb his cat tree house faster than any of his foster companions.
This handsome boy would love nothing better than to know that he is loved and that he is safe. His guardian angels have been with him so far, making sure that he was able to be multi-rescued by ARWOB. With time and patience, as soon as he knows that he is safe and secure in a home, you will see the purr machine this guy can be! If you are interested in this gentle boy, please fill out an application online and we will be happy to set up a time for you to meet him.
