GIGO was relinquished from a family in San Diego on 2/1/2012.

The couple relinquished both of their dogs to he group, mentioning the little pup was VERY needy and needed someone to 'hold' him all the time because he would cry if he wasn't on someones lap/arms. Also, they thought he had fleas because he was missing hair. They had him for a few months purchased from someone at a swap meet. Of course he was never taken to the vet for pup vaccines or any medical care when he was loosing patches of hair.

Immediately upon relinquishment he was taken to he vet were a skin scrapping showed both demodex and Sarcoptic mange and a bad skin infection. Poor guy it took his foster mom 4 days of lots of medications and some antihistamines to help him with the HORRIBLE itchiness he had, the poor thing was so uncomfortable he couldn't sleep without winning and waking his foster mom from the severe scratching.

GIGO was not allowed anyone in the home for a few weeks so he would stay in the front yard until his infectious stage was under control. Hence, it probably has taken GIGO time to learn the rules of potty breaking.

Its been 2 months now and his hair is all back now! Of course its still very short but it just needs to grow out to a normal Maltese coat. GIGO LOVES to play, he is very goofy and a total puppy behavior, things in his mouth as he is very tiny and finds MANY things in the floor which in Gigo's world are HIS! He is silly, goofy, playful and LOVES to play with ALL dogs little like him or HUGE that keep stepping on him! He is a sweet heart a little shy to pick up but he is crate trained and not a huge barker BUT he will and could be without the proper adopter to keep him in check (his foster mom has worked a lot with him as before he had a lot to say and he can say it for a very brief time, thats the rule).

GIGO would be GREAT with children as the previous family had children, he is very safe not a biter at all and likes dogs, cats and of course to play play play.

Ideal adopter - Someone who has experience with little breeds and how much they want to 'speak' all the time to make sure that is under control and someone who KNOWS puppy stages and making sure they don't eat or bite something that can harm them, as well as potty train him as he is not potty trained. Most of the time he will go potty in the pee pads #1, #2 still an issue which will be resolved with someone who can dedicate more time to GIGO.

GIGO is healthy and ready to go home, adopters just need to know his coat is just growing in and will be a beautiful coat in time for the summer time!

If you would like to foster or adopt GIGO, please, file an adoption application, thank you
