Ok, we had to make adopters look and rethink passing him by, so this kitty's name is NOT "The best in the world!" of course BUT it might as well be.
His real name is Vino and he is a young adult cat (maybe 14 months) full grown who has been with he rescue group and the same foster mom since February. Why are people passing him by? we would like to think because adopters are looking for "cute" little kittens or because he is a black kitten (study's show black cats are the least to be adopted in shelters and hence euthanised)
So, let's make a Pro and Con list about Vino, shall we:
Pro: He is full grown, so there are no more surprises on behavior or size. He is VERY playful just like a kitten. He is SO loving and cuddly, so, the more to hug and squeeze (especially on cold nights!), he has a fantastic patience ideal for family with children, he is very well behaved and has NEVER, EVER has an accident using the litter box. He is funny, charming, tolerant and well, all cats/kittens and foster dogs LOVE him!
Con: He is black, he is an adult, he likes to play with plastic grocery bags and runns around with them like a cape thinking he is superman (so you have to be fast at placing groceries away), he loves to hang from dogs necks (don't ask me I have no idea what he is thinking), He loves to cuddle under the blankets (don't appreciate being stared at to lift the blanket for him at 2am!), He is not very photogenic so his pictures are not always the best.
Well, if you ask me the PRO list hands down WINS over the CONS, So, come on adopters you are looking for a family cat? Then you have found him! Are you looking for a companion for your dog or cat ? Then you have found hime! Are you looking for a pair of kitty's? Then let us know because he lives with several and maybe you can adopt an adult and a kitten at the same time!
Vino would like to be home for the Holiday's and every year we have 1 or 4 cats who have been with us for a LONG time, they are usually the black kitty's if you ask all the adopters who ventured into the "BZ" (black zone) they will all tell you, "It was the best decision they have ever made!"
