This little girl's name is "Cheri," the cheerful kitty. She doesn't take pictures very well, but we would like to let you know that she really is the PERFECT cat!
Cheri was found as a stray by a Good Sam and turned into the North Animal Shelter late October. She had several URI brakes (cold) and was considered to be too sick for shelter life. Because of this, her life was in the balance: Shelter staff were thinking of putting her to sleep! However, her little angels (staff/volunteers at shelter) emailed us to let us know what a wonderful cat she is. Well, when we opened the email that said " What?! a nice tortie?!" we knew she was a favorite and needed a second chance.
Cheri arrived to her foster's home and immediately fell in love with freedom. There was no easy or slow introduction toward any of the dogs/cats in the home as she just said "Hi my name is Cheri, thank you for having me!" and was right at home like she had been there for months.
She loves to talk when people talk to her, she loves to hug you when you pick her up... she is just the BEST CAT ever! Especially for a Tortie! She will do very well in a home with other cats and dogs or several people to keep her company. She is a beauty! She has green eyes but unfortunately she is always looking at something and is very hard to take pictures of. She loves to play, groom and cuddle with other cats. If there is a cat-friendly dog she will play with them but she can sometimes be a little rough though she never bites down or use her claws (if she does she is very gentle).
As of 12/10/10 her weight is 8.0 pounds. We believe she is maybe 2 years old but she acts like a kitten. She is perfect when it comes to using the litter box and hasn't used the couch once as her scratching post. She has so much personality, she is just amazing and SO LOVING!
