Update 12/3/23 from the family that is fostering McIntosh:
“Mac is a 6-month-old super sweet, affectionate boy who loves cuddling, walks, and toys. He would make a great family dog. He is outgoing and loves everyone - men, women, and children. He's fantastic with other dogs, completely housebroken, and is learning obedience commands very quickly. Mac is fully crate-trained. Mac warms up to new people and dogs fast. He's an adaptable pup. He would love a home with a yard. Mac is untested around cats. He has a prey drive with wild animals like bunnies. Mac is a great size - currently 25 pounds and will mature to 30-40 pounds max.”
Original Rescue Story:
Adopt McIntosh!
This is our second “apple” who is also a smaller fella and approximately 20 pounds when he came under ARWOB’s care. He will likely reach 35 pounds when full grown. You may have guessed that he is Fuji’s brother (who is also available for adoption) and Mac is STILL available for adoption as well! He has lived with 2 different foster families since arriving under our care in July, including living with our Adoption Event Coordinator in a family setting (parents, young children, and multiple personal and foster dogs in the home with a yard and a pool). He did great in that setting! He enjoys family time by the pool and also various outings, such as camping and spending time at Dog Beach.
He also spent time living at Casa de ARWOB and exhibited a very sweet brotherly love and dynamic with his bro Bailey, who was adopted and has already found his forever home. McIntosh is okay with cats, but is not exactly a model roommate with kitties, so he might be fine living with a “savvy” cat, who is confident and will put him in his place. Mac is crate trained and house trained. Like all pups he enjoys playing with his dog friends, napping on the couch, and is VERY food motivated – he is a growing teen, so he is always hungry. As you can see from his facial expressions in his photos, he is ALWAYS analyzing the situation, thinking and observing his surroundings. If he had a “thinking cap” he would be wearing it 24/7!
Mac is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He is ready to go home to his forever family! If you are interested in Mac, we even offer a foster-to-adopt trial so that you can see if he would be a good fit for your family. We know he would love to meet you, so please complete an online adoption application at www.arwob.org asap. If you are interested in the FTA option, just make note on your adoption app. If you would like to foster Mac or one of our other lovely doggos while they wait to find their forever family, please complete an online foster application. Let’s get this cute fella into his forever home!!
