My name is Abby and I was rescued from the streets of Tijuana in late August by a good citizen who noticed me waiting by the gate of a home after she drove through daily for work and had never seen me before. She stopped and asked around and was told by neighbors I belonged to the previous owners of the home, but they moved and left me behind. Unfortunately, its a quite common situation down in Mexico and I was just hoping they would come back and get me but they never did. When the lady approached me with food I came running to her straving and so happy she bent down to pet me. After a minute she picked me up and placed me in her car and that was it! I was safe :)
I am a happy soul. Always smiling and always happy to be approached by these good humans and their children. They have a couple of doggy friends and a cat to which I find fascinating and want to be friends with so I would say if a forever family has either of these 4 legged friends I would beb super happy but I am also used to being the only dog. So far, I do jump on furniture and I try to go potty in the pee pads but that is a very new concept so i prefer to go outside in their patio.
I can't speak so I can tell these good humans about my past experience but I do know, they know i am a fantastic loving dog who enjoys all living beings and can't wait to find a REAL forever family who can love me the way I want to love them!
I don't know what they mean when they ask me "what am I? a mini golden retriever or a spaniel?" but I do know I am beautiful and will need frequent grooming to not get this beautiful hair of mine entangled like it was when I was first rescued off the streets. I am a nice small/medium size girl and I bet I have MANY breeds in my DNA all making me a beauty inside and out!
I am looking for a foster home in San Diego while I get spayed in San Diego, My sterilization appointment is Late September in the 92104 area, would you be able to foster me while you adopt me OR even better, adopt me straight away BUT know you have to bring me to my spay appointment as these ARWOB volunteers are DEAD serious when they say my surgery apt is NOT transferable because we are already battling a huge pet overpopulation with so many friends trying to find homes, I don't need to be having a personal doggy family of my own. My surgery is OF COURSE already included with my adoption fee :)
Would you like to adopt me? Submit an adoption application NOW! A volunteer will review it and text or email you to schedule a 10-15min call to talk about the adoption process and if both parties want to move fwd schedule a meet and greet in the clairemont or mission valley area.
We can schedule meet and greets ANY day of the week and any time during daylight. ARWOB does NOT ship dogs so if you want to meet me you have to drive down to meet me AND ARWOB does NOT place a hold on rescues, so please do not submit an adoption application unless you are prepared/ready to be a puppy parents SOON typically within a week or so of submitting an application because I am READY to go home.
