UPDATE 8-31-22 - Here is what Lucas' new foster family has to say:

"Lucas and Mike have been fostered together since 8/24 and have a great brotherly bond would be a great pair to adopt together but not a requirement. Lucas, once the new environment anxiety wears off, is quite the explorer. He loves to play fetch and provoke his brother for attention. He may pretend he’s an independent boy but he will always return for snuggles when he wants to. This boy is an angel!"

UPDATE 8-19-22 Here is what Lucas' foster family has to say:

"Lucas is the sweetest and calmest of the bunch. He has the sweetest puppy eyes and just wants to cuddle or to be held. He definitely enjoys playing with his brothers and sisters. He likes to wrestle and run around but I think he enjoys cuddling the most. He is timid and cautious as well. He is consistent with using the potty pads. Lucas is tiny but he has a huge heart and is ready to love his new family."

ORIGINAL RESCUE STORY:

Meet the 'Stranger Things' Family!

Mama Joyce and her little babies (2 girls and 5 boys): Elle, Maxine, Will, Mike, Lucas, Hopper and Dustin aka Dusty poo :)

Mama Joyce is slender at this time because she is malnourished and will not be available for adoption until 8/22/22. She will need a new foster at that time as well. She is available for adoption or to be fostered on or after 8/22/22 HOWEVER her new foster family or adoptive family will need to be available to drop her off to her Spay surgery appointment on September 13th in the North Park 92104 area. Joyce was rescued off the streets of Tijuana, Mexico, along with her 1-week-old pups. The babies turned 8 weeks old on 8/10 and are very tiny little things. Happy, loving, active and ready for their new chapter in their lives!

They are currently 2 pounds and we expect that they will be their mom's size when full grown..12 lbs.
Mom looks like a small terrier/Dachshund/chihuahua mix and the pups are probably going to be the same small size. These pups are social with children, dogs and cats. Not house trained. Learning crate training.

The pups are available for adoption now. Because of their small stature, we will wait to have them sterilized until they are a little bigger in size/age. Adopters will need to be available (live in San Diego area) to drop off and pick up at the Veterinary hospital for their sterilization surgeries in the North Park area 92104. The Girls are scheduled for October 11th and the Boys are scheduled for October 18th. These dates are NONE TRANSFERABLE.

The babies will do their debut at our adoption event Sunday 8/14/22 from 10am to noon at the Petsmart in Clairemont for more information and to submit a dog adoption application online visit us on our webpage at ARWOB.org
