Meet Shirley and Laverne!
UPDATE 2-22-21:
These two sweet sisters were rescued from the streets of Ensenada in early February. We have a picture of what their mom looks like and she seems to be a Weimaraner/Lab/Pit mix. Sadly, we were unable to rescue their mother and the rest of their siblings. We do not know if they were rescued by someone else, as volunteers only found these two girls when they came back to help the whole family (upon becoming aware of their situation).
Shirley is a couple of pounds lighter than her sister Laverne, who is slightly bigger. Laverne is protective of her sister too. They are currently being fostered together in San Diego in a home with 3 little boys and 1 cat. The pups just received their second set of vaccines and adopters will need to follow up with their family vet for follow-up vaccines. These girls will be available to meet potential adopters as soon as Monday, March 1, 2021.
Because of COVID-19, sterilization appointments have been difficult to schedule. Shirley and Laverne will be spayed in the 92104 area of San Diego on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. Therefore, priority will given to local area applicants. This will ensure they are able to take the girls to the pre-scheduled surgery appointment and then pick them up at the end of the day after surgery. Please do NOT submit an application if you do not live in the San Diego area. If you would like to adopt and live outside of San Diego area, you are welcome to wait until their sterilization surgery has been completed to see if they are still available (please note that we do not place holds on any of our rescues).
