Meet Georges!
UPDATE 3-10-21:
Georges is about 12 pounds and 6 months old. He is the sweetest baby, who loves to give kisses. He is much bigger than a yorkie, but he has the sweet personality and disposition of one! He will likely grow to be in the 15-25 pound range, so if you are looking for a "yorkie-sized" pup, this guy is not the one for you.”
ORIGNAL RESCUE STORY:
This handsome boy was rescued after a good Samaritan noticed him hiding in the shadows, running zigzag back and forth in the street, obviously very scared. The people who first noticed him thought it was a cat or mouse, but then realized it was a small puppy. They approached him and finally coaxed him to come close. The little guy was very scared, shaggy, and matted. He was missing hair on his ears, so the couple that rescued him took him to the vet the next day. Thankfully he was found to be in relatively good condition, just with matted fur and fleas. The vet believes the alopecia is not too severe, but does not know if it is caused by genetics or poor nutrition — only time will tell if the hair will grow back on his ears. His coat has now been shaved, but we posted some photos from his original rescue.
Georges is a small breed pup, who enjoys other dogs, people and cats. Like all pups, he is not house trained and is just learning crate training. He should not be left home alone for long, if at all, since he does not like being alone. Therefore apartment living for a single working adult will not work for him. This little guy has already been neutered and will be ready to meet potential adopters as soon as Saturday, 2/27/21. If all goes well during the meet, he can hopefully go home as soon as that weekend.
If you would like to adopt this handsome little man, please submit an online adoption application at www.arwob.org. Don’t wait!
